Yay ๐Ÿ˜€

I very nearly wet myself at the front of The Point Depot in Dublin sometime in the early nineties when they launched into this. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Very cool. GH seems to be a goldmine for this kind of stuff.
I grabbed an unclipped copy of the latest metallica album from a previous version.

Am I too young to say I'm quite enjoying listening to this?

Great post Gav....

I really enjoyed listening to that. There's months/years of study worthy stuff there in just that one song.

Anyone got a decent single-guitar tab? I suddenly fancy trying to learn this again!

Not sure I understand why he's not very good - the compositions, distinctive finger-picking style and intervals, and guitar tone always makes him stand out for me.

Sorry for being late to the party, just found this thread (Hey, not all of us get to lark around on the internets all day...) ๐Ÿ™‚

Great link! Embarrassingly, this is the very first thing I ever tried to learn on guitar when I was about 17. Not the rhythm, but the solo... Before I even learned barre chords. Only slightly ambitious then...

I still can't play it all. But I'm not ashamed to say that I'll always be a staunch Dire Straits fan... IGMC

Quite like it, but it's pretty much a copy structurally and chromatically of Rory Gallagher's "Shadowplay" which I prefer personally. Some of it could be better, it's got a few dead or poorly damped notes and the timing is a little off in places.

Having said that He's a terrific guitarist, it's just that I don't like his work very much.
