About to pan-fry some megrim I got on the cheap. Would normally do some simple buttered new potatoes or something along those lines but just realised I don't have any. Not even emergency oven-chips in the freezer. There's an assortment of veg in the fridge, pasta and rice in the store-cupboard. Anyone got any ideas for something that will go nicely with the fish?

Yum, that sounds bloody nice. Mental note made for the next one.

Unfortunately, I have no tamarind ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Bread and butter. Mug of tea.

And make it proper butter, not that processed spread crap.

Oh, and white bread.

Mum used to do haddock, poached in milk, dad used to do mackerel, cleaned in the sea, primus, pan butter, on brown bread.
