Or, at least I imagine it to be... not having done smack and all...

Been 'off' sugar for 3 weeks or so, as part of my "healthy living blitzreig kickstart program" (patent pending). Wife comes home from Oz bearing a small nations worth of Aussie sugar treats (Tim Tams, Clinkers, Freckles, Freddo Frogs, Caramello Koalas and more and more besides...), seriously, must be like 5kg's of chocolate and shit sitting in my lounge room... So, I think to myself, I'll just have a little bit, just a bit at a time, a little each night as a treat...

But you can't just have one bit of processed chocolate, it's bloody impossible! It just keeps calling to you and your body just keeps remembering and reminding you of the sweet sweet taste and how good it tastes and how nice it feels and before you bloody know it you've eaten an entire packet of Freckles!

Sugar really is very dangerous isn't it? Just how addictive is it? Have they done studies?

Now, I'm off to eat a packet of Freddo Frogs... maybe...

If sugar is crack then Mrs PP is a drug lord.

I cannot resist. Yet still she makes more nice things to eat 8)

You spend three weeks kicking butt on the weight loss front, and no sooner is she in the door than she's dosing you up!!

mmm, Freddos. Crap chocolate is good, isn't it.

without the eurphoria I guess ? Is smack euphoric ? ...probably.

everyone is addicted to sugar... some more than others. I try to cut out as much refined sugar as possible these days, not always easy... fortunately for me very sweet stuff makes me gack.

Once you kick the habit it's fantastic though. Having said that i still get my fix from dried fruit, i really need to wean myself off it.

Yup, especially when you come down. You have that slightly sick, somewhat bloated, guilty, headachey, sugar crash, and it's awful...

That'd be me right now... ewww... must try to remember this instead!

Ah, she's impressed and happy with the change... but she didn't know about it when she was buying all the goodies back home... I think the best thing to do is give it all away to the kids this halloween, though, of course, I could just learn a bit of self-control and willpower!

I don't get the slightly sick, somewhat bloated etc affair. I just get headaches, anger and "hunger" pangs.

I seem to be able to tolerate sugar very well. I can eat vast amounts and not get a comedown or any adverse affects.

So does this mean we will soon have a 'I am going to put on 6KG in 3 Weeks' thread?

Marj? (Shouldn't that be spelt "marg"?)

Either way, no no NO. Butter, full fat, that's the way to go.

marg and sugar... butter and sugar the only time I that stuff like that is when I'm scoffing an energy bar down my gullet when I'm struggling to get me home 'cause I'm dying from lack of errr... energy.

Nah, interestingly enough, still dropping the pounds off, down to 89kg now ๐Ÿ™‚ Just need to keep it up at the gym really, and not eat entire bags of chocolate each evening of course! ๐Ÿ˜†

I can honestly see how some folk get bigger and bigger though, it's just so easy to eat a stupid amount of calories in one hit, very difficult to stop once you've had one or two bits of cheap chocolate and before you know it the packet is empty and you're well on your way to being a fatty-boom-batty!

At 97kg I was on a cusp I reckon, a little bit longer without making a change and I'd be over 100kgs and then it would've been hard to come back I reckon! Lucky me I realised the error of my ways and made some changes...

Yes but you misunderstand, what I'm saying is no matter how crap the ingredients - cheap marg (yes you are right) and white sugar still gives you a hit. The purest form of those two narcotics still work without any other gesture towards flavour at all.

well done Phsycle, damn good going. Nobody has to be a slave to addiction, there comes a time when we know that old habits are no longer serving us and the only way to move on is to change our ways. The mind can overcome anything if one is prepared to erm... put their mind to it.
