Well that was a more expensive visit to stw than expected. @singletrackmind and @wej Ordered rather more beer and coffee than I should've done.

I don't know if this is allowed, but my brother Andy Seed is a freelance children's author (he won the Blue Peter prize, voted for by the children themselves - a few years ago).

You can google Andy Seed.

He's well know for his 'Anti boredom books' which as you can imagine are selling well atm.

Mods if this isn't allowed please delete.

Cougar

Currently furloughed but if things change for the worse I’ll add my skill set.

Add it anyway?

Ok, I'm fabricator welder / head of department. Over 20 years experience in fabrication. I'm Motorsport based at the moment but metal is metal at the end of the day.

Edit: I'm up in NW Cumbria.

Great idea for a thread Chipps!

Freelance graphic designer and photographer here. I’ve been known to shoot bikes and features for The Magazine (there’s a magazine?! Etc etc...), but also shoot most other outdoorsy type things which naturally aren’t happening much at the moment.

As for design, I specialise in branding and advertising - I do a lot of work with the guys at Wheelbase amongst others.

Hit me up at james@jamesianvincent.com with any questions

Great idea Chips.
Hi I'm Jaz, for my sin's I'm a plumber based in Nottingham, cover all areas round and about. Have sorted jobs for STWers up to Lincoln and a few in-between. Self employed and am really only doing smaller jobs at the moment to keep me in customers houses for the least time possible and because materials are more difficult to get hold of at the moment.

Cheers,
Jaz

Not an offer but a question for @WEJ. Which payment method costs you the least in fees?

If this was the Classifieds you'd be getting PayPal Goods, but since you're offering stripe, PayPal or direct transfer, which gets you spanked the least fees-wise? Appreciate it's probably utterly marginal, but thought it worth the ask!

Thank you very very very much to all of the lovely people who have ordered.
It means a great deal to me as i make the stuff.
Ordering wise its all gone rather wrong, if you are not local you will have to add P & P to your order. Then the website deducts 25% from the total amount.

If this is a deal breaker then please email through and we can arrange a refund.

We are trying to modify the business from dealing with a few dozen pubs to a few hundred individuals and its not what we are used to doing.

We are sending fresh beer off to be bottled and those wanting mixed cases i highly recomend waiting 10 days so we can get you a full mix of LPA, Pride of the Valley, Watercress Best, Hampshire Rose, Pure Gold and Russian Winter.

Again, if the delay is too long ping us an email andcwe can sort it

The LPA is awesome and well worth waiting for. If you have a particular dislike of dark beer again ping me a mail and we can do a golden beer mix, its not like Guinness BTW, its difter and sweeter with rich chocolate softer coffee flavours.

Otherwise, please click add carriage if you would like to order and we will package up and post when the new stock arrives. I can only apologise for any confusion this may have caused but we are nice people and will do our best to put right any issues

STM, I'll be ordering a case or 2 soon. Do you still want us to wait or does it make sense to order now so you know what needs bottling? I prefer dark beer 🙂

singletrackmind - I did wonder about carriage.
It would be helpful if you could let your new and non-local customers know how to modify an existing order to include P&P.
I'm happy to wait for the full mix to become available.
For reference my order number is 00201.

Looking again at your email, are you sure about discounting the P&P by 25%?
Sure it should be beer less 25% plus P&P?

AArrrgghhh
God I hate trying to do new things on limited time .
Frank is spot on . Original list price was £26.40 plus P & P
I added a 25% discount code on the bottles , then the P & P is added on to that amount.
So 12 x 500ml delivered price is £28.79 , the other anomoly is the P & P is flat rate if you buy 1 case or 6 cases.

I wont tell if you don't.

@pyro The cheapest payment method for us is bank transfer, then stripe and Paypal. But I really don't mind, whatever is easiest for the customer is fine.

singletrack - so how do I change my order to reflect the P&P?
Would it be easier and cleaner if you asked everyone to cancel their orders and start again - provided the online ordering system now works as you want it to.
An alternative is to set up P&P as an order item and ask everyone outside of your local free delivery area to 'buy one'; this would probably require an email to everyone affected - I would like to think no-one would cancel orders because of a genuine oversight.
Still a cracking deal!

I ordered 2 cases (Pride Valley and Pure Gold), don't know how I missed the mixed case. Came out at 2*26.40 = 52.80

deduct 25% discount
52.80-13.20 = 39.60

add carriage 8.99
39.60+8.99 = 48.59

that sounds right to me? If anything it sounds like a bargain, the brewery closest to me charge £40 for a crate of 12! If I owe more, let me know

if you are short on PV and PG bottles then feel free to sub in some bottles of dark beer, I do like a nice dark beer - but i'm a fan of Pure Gold and I like a nice sub-4% session beer too. Don't make things complicated for yourself though, I just appreciate nice beer

I work as an Adviser for protection Insurance ( Life Insurance / Income / Critical Illness )

If anyone needs any help or advice on any of these subjects I am happy to help.

The advice service is entirely free and the prices are the same as going direct with an Insurer without advice.

I work totally independently of any insurer/group and have whole of market access to get the best prices and most relevant cover to what you need.

So if you need any help getting cover set up, are unsure what is available or what you may need, or even if you just want a review of the cover you have to see if the prices are good, get in touch. Happy to have a chat and see whats what.

I have helped a few people from STW in the past and they have all been happy with the cover and the service.

Its fine NBT . We are going to honor the P&P for multiple cases as our courier firm discounts for multi drops to the same location.
Having talked it through with the sales guy we might end up refunding those who have ordered without adding th P&P , then its entirely up to each individual if they sill would like to proceed with the purchace.
We cant discount 25% and do free P & P , thats not possible. But a case or 3 t the same address @ £8.99 P & P is doable.
We will old off distributing mixed cases till the fresh batches return from our bottlers so bear with us
RichPenny . I will attempt to bias the mix toward the darker end of the scale

funkmasterp - that's great. The logistics of getting fabric to me and myself delivering to you, seem to be barriers atm. If you are local (I'm in the Stockport area South Manchester) and can deliver fabric that would be great. You can message me through - Emmy Jane Designs on FB, or message nbt on here. Thanks.

csb - thanks so much for writing that about Andy Seed. He does indeed visit schools (obviously not at the moment). He's had to cancel The Hay book festival, also he had a stint booked at the Edinburgh festival.
Tell Your children he has an e-book out atm called 'The joy of socks' £2 from Amazon. The book contains 55 games for families and children all around socks.

One day, like it or not, and to paraphrase Richmal Crompton's William Brown, you will marry some girl or some old girl will come along and marry you. When that happens, I'll be ready and waiting to document the joyous occasion (do try to smile). www.emersonphotography.co.uk In the meantime, there's always grindr.

Edit: I also spend two days a week piloting a massive van around NE Scotland delivering essential food packaging, so if you need any of that, let me know - Arbroath to Bannf and beyond...

Hi guys, what a fantastic idea! As a long time lurker I love the way STW comes together!!

Sooooo....I’ve had been developing the idea of my own company for a few years, building wheels for friends and local riders - “Scrub Wheels” had slowly started to take more and more of my time, until late last year we decided that 2020 was going to be the year that I was to get out from behind a desk at my "real" job, and do something for me!
www.scrubwheels.com
@scrubwheels
I have a number of stock wheelsets – both in Carbon and Alloy which I aim to keep in stock for immediate dispatch.
I want to make great UK handbuilt wheels as accessible as possible. Prices start at £350 for the Scrub Alloy 30 – our do-it-all trail wheelset with a 30mm internal dimension.
I also offer custom builds so there should be something for everyone!
Obviously we are facing some tough times but if anyone needs new wheels / wheel building service, either now or in the future, I’d appreciate you keep Scrub Wheels in mind.

Chipps, many thanks for this thread!

I distil my own rum from scratch at Ninefold Distillery, in Dumfries & Galloway. Small batch, made from molasses, double distilled and bottled on site.

Launched June last year, current product is an unaged pure single rum (aka 'white' rum) that's most definitely a smooth sipper, or a cocktail/coke mixer. A few STW'ers have picked up a bottle in the past and have been very complimentary, to my great pride.

10% off to you lovely lot (code: STWRUM), and postage is free.

I've got a spiced rum coming in a few months, and my first cask release later in the year. You can get yourself some vouchers in the meantime to spend on those, if you're sceptical about the unaged stuff 😉

Cheers!

Hate doing your tax return and/or book-keeping? My missus will do it, she's been a freelance accounts/book-keeping and tax whiz for years. Probably cheaper than an accountant and will happily talk for hours about bikes (or anything else) if you want.

Dm me if your books are a mess.

Good friend of mine works for the CNC Police. They are recruiting and you don't need any specific qualifications. 8 locations around the UK. Good pay and pension. Not the usual type of Policing.
