Am I missing something, but this forum is UK based but the spell checker is American English. Why?

The spell checker is part of your browser and not the forum 🙂
Change the settings in your browser and watch as the spell checker magically puts on a bowler hat and speaks estuary English.
If not using Chrome, use Google 🙂
