I'd agree a_a, the posters before seem to be suggesting that the Wales backline is the clear better one. Now I'd say that on the floor the are yes, but Haskell is in the form of his life, Robshaw never has a bad game for England and Billy V is a wrecking ball when on form. In terms of experience then I'd say that the Welshies obviously edge it, by Lydiate and Hovis in particular can be prone to going awol on occasion.....usually against the SH teams rather than England sadly.

Am I right in thinking that the Wales England match is on Sky?

This has all the hallmarks of the best game for years, I hope it doesn't disappoint. Lots of pundits are talking up JJ and the Burrell partnership as the potential RWC pairing - form players in position etc.

England, Haskell, Billy V, Burrell, May Ford, Watson and even Brown have a point to prove in this game. I can't help thinking at Club level England are the form players, but at international level Wales are more the cohesive. I think England have the best attacking potential they've had for a while, but wales could smother the ball.

Its going to be on full on, that's for sure.

And if England win, England v Ireland will be electric.

I'd agree a_a, the posters before seem to be suggesting that the Wales backline is the clear better one.

Backrow = 6,7,8, Backline = (generally) 11, 12, 13, 14,15

The general opinion here is that there isn't much between the backrows which sounds fair but the England backline is very untested but exciting, again sounds fair.

There aren't many caps between the English backs!

Haskell is in the form of his life, Robshaw never has a bad game for England and Billy V is a wrecking ball when on form.

I've always really liked Haskell and in form means playing the same as normal but not giving away penalties 😀 Really happy to see him playing for England again as he is definitely quality. Robshaw is always solid as you say and Billy will be great for 30 minutes before he gets exhausted 😆

Faletau hasnt played well for a while though

He always seems to go in to hibernation for club rugby but deliver for Wales. He looked alright in November although that was a long time ago!

Looking forward to tomorrow so much!

If that happens it'll be the refs fault or Englands cheating or the welsh players got cold cause the roof was open........dont worry lads these are just the intro's I have plenty more ready if the worst happens.

Then again, same sports page was of the opinion that the English back row is better than Lyds, Faletau and Hovis.

Yeah to be fair, Haskell isn't better than lydiate.

With Haskell I'd say it's more likely to be this:

Apparantly not these days, but we'll see... the ref is French no? And not Nigel so Haskell stands a good chance of staying on.

You actually make a good point, the English Problem (amongst others) of conceding in their own half since Farrell was 10 needs to be fixed, especially tonight with 1/2p on the pitch.

Well, the Today programme breaks the big stories. Adam Jones sang Barry Manilow's Cocacabana to fulfill his obligation to sing in front of his teammates on the occasion of his 50th cap.

Seeing Haskell run always makes me think or the were-rabbit from the Wallace and Grommit films. It might not seem it straight away but if you watch the film the resemblance is uncanny 😀

That audio is the most depressing thing about being an England supporter. SLSC is even worse that the sweaty flower song.

Wales always win on the anthem stakes. Best part of the 6N is LoMF sung at the Millenium. Inspires me and I am in the oppo side. Rather than letting it turn them to jelly I hope the men in white can just draw in the power of the welsh voices too.

Getting excited now - should be a corker. Not sure why Edwards is playing the ref game, he shouldn't be worried.

Wales should shave it, but here's hoping.

Now, beer or red wine.....no skull attack in surrey!

For Eng vs Wales who's the ref?
If it's Steve Walsh then the Walshmen shall, no doubt, win again...

Although Edwards has pointed out Englands "League based running lines", Rowntree has retorted and pointed out the Welsh angles in the front row. Round 1 to England, for understanding the ref much betterer... Gethin is going to get mullered I feel is the plan, Haskell/Billy V/Burrell is going to run at Biggar to draw Roberts, with Brown moving up to create a wonderous Try! Huzzah!

Sticking with my earlier prediction, England by a small margin.

Not sure why Edwards is playing the ref game, he shouldn't be worried.

He's of the Gatland camp, it's what they do.
Trying to influence ref's eh?
Huget thought it?

Chippy or curry?

Well the chippy would be more Welsh!
😆
Good luck to both teams tonight. Above all, I hope it's a great game and a good advert for NH rugby.

Thats alright THM, I will just put it down to your continued, often displayed desire to be an arse, and won't bite again.Should you ever retire up here,(hopefully no longer an aim) you may not want to refer to us face to face by those terms.
CFH; Go and talk to yourself; chippy. More grease, soaks up the beer better and not as filling as curry.Oh and good to see the Ref complaints coming in early,it's likes Zokes was still with us. I wonder if I say his name three times A-A...
England by 5 (I think the occasion will get to the Welsh, and I think they are one front row injury away from being chewed up)I hope it is a massive smash up,and the first scrum...Oh baby!
Ireland by 10 (Italy drag Ireland into a stop-start mess of a game)
France by 12-15 (We are beset by injury and France have picked their best team, not just the most famous one, gits!)
No Slam this year,just a champion.Ireland.

If you say his name three times I get a weeks ban.
Who is out for Scotland? I thought it looked a good team.
Getting worried and tense now, not expecting tonight to be a great flowing game but it will be brutal and tense, just hope Wales can do it.

Bless, having played rugby in Scotland, I put up with a lot worse!! But fortunately we were playing the mans game. Pulse my Scottish friends use the same term without wilting.

Hope your 1XV is less delicate.

But back on topic - prediction

2, no

[resets at first scrum and will it be a penalty?]

Can we get some overall predictions too before the first game kicks off? Heart says Wales for the win (head really doesn't agree!)... and England are good at coming second, so all else follows from there 😕

Wales
England
Ireland
France
Scotland
Italy

I havent a clue. Think ireland are best team. If Wales win tonight they could do it if Samson stays in one piece. Tonights game is a close call though 60:40 in wales favour but the England team is strong only really Tuilagi,Lawes and Launchbury would add to it despite all the talk of injuries.

Not so sure if you want to do a defensive job. Plus Cole is horribly short of game time. Only just returned from a neck injury and he's had a month out with an ankle one.
Anyway, I'm looking for excuses here. 1 hr to go!

Anyone know where I can watch the Wales England game on the net? Usually head to the local Irish pub to watch on Sky but am stuck in bed with a nice bout of influenza B. 🙁

I'll go

Ire
Fra
Eng
Wal
Sco
Ita

Slightly anxious about Ire tomorrow. We have struggled in Rome recently and from 8-13 we only have Murray that has ever started a 6N game
