This weekend's annoyance: Taking melatonin to try and allow me more than three hours sleep, but then waking up at 1am or 2am and being sufficiently not tired enough to go back to sleep. I tell ya, nothing beats a full day of AFF on three hours of sleep!
For some reason my wife moaned when I used the outside bog (think posh campsite, not shed at the end of the garden) as a mop bucket when cleaning the toilet/utility room floor. It worked perfectly and the bog got a good clean as well. Just flushed away the same stuff as normally used minus all those micro plastics from the bucket! 😆
I have to attend a course to inspire me to be a better middle leader.
If that's not bad enough the last hour is our senior leader uninspiring us with waffle and unthought out nonsense. Whilst piling the work on with unrealistic deadlines.
I swear to god if I have to draw a triangle in the air with one hand and a square with the other someone dies.
I too have had a similar experience, although I did kind of volunteer as I was curious, so the absolute waste of the first day and subsequent 2 days I didn't bother attending is wholly on me.
My boss was cool with it though.
I can now see why many companies are full of absolute belters in leadership if that was a common standard.
The bit that made me angry was the insistence of oversharing 'to bond'.

I am currently disproportionally cross that the rapidly growing peregrine falcon chicks at Salisbury Cathedral are now sufficiently mobile enough to to be hiding from the webcams. Not being able to view them on my second screen makes work meetings much more boring than usual.
Last night I screwed down the floor in my new house for the last time, after 12 months of refurbishment and basically rebuilding.
Today I realised I'd left my cordless fan under the floor and unscrewed the floor for the 500th time. Then screwed it back down for the last time.
On the upside, at least now it's a nice round number.

But here’s one from me.
On my 2/3rds gravel commute there’s a 3 week roadwork schedule. In the morning I’m through before they start, but in the evening they’ve left but not before the water truck has put an exceedingly large amount of water down. The smooth hard surface now has a 1cm layer of slippery clay which basically paints me and my pretty much spotless bike. 
My parcel has arrived at the delivery depot and is due for delivery today.
It needs a proof of age for the 0.0% beer but the estimated delivery time is through the working day. Can't be left elsewhere because of the need for proof of age.
I fear it'll go round the three attempts route then head back to Hinckley from the Scottish borders so it can be returned to the black isle.
That my daughter is now no longer allowed back into the country with her Dutch passport meaning a 400 mile round trip to collect her UK passport she has left at her Uni house......soooo cross.
I'll add to this that also making me DC is the fact the govt suggest dual nationals travel out on their EU passport and back on their UK one but you can only link one set of documents on API for the tunnel.....ffs what a mess
Someone trying to engage me in conversation while I'm cleaning my teeth. Ive got a buzzy tool (ooh, err) inserted into my mouth so I can't hear you properly, combined with a gobful of foam. What do you want me to do, spit it all over the bathroom?

I was in a pub a few days ago, in the toilets they have sinks with those push-button taps which haven't been serviced/replaced in 40 years so need the button constantly held down.

I asked the person in question to stop, so I could explain about bees, insects and other creatures reliant on these blooms. He said they were ‘messy’.

There seems to be two mindsets at war with one another in relation to this at the moment - one seeing evidence of nature as a welcome gift and the other as an untidy intrusion. Local authorities seem to be in a sort of turmoil where on the one hand they are trying to create the green space we all say we want and on the other are expected to keep everything prim and proper. Our council has been creating strips of wildflower planting through the various green spaces around the town - it seems they have to makes these incredibly rectilinear so that its clear that the wildness is there on purpose rather than through neglect. And they have to put a little sign on each one to say what they are are and why they are valuable. Then - right along side them, they spray weedkiller along the path edges, around bollards and lamppost and along the base of walls so they look tidy. So they are creating food sources for pollinating insects and simulatiously poisoning then and destroying their nest sites
The fact that I just never ever seem to be able to learn the volumetric proportions of our under counter kitchen bin, so that each time I need to buy new bags, presented with a supermarket shelf full of them, I cannot ever remember the capacity I'm looking for and so invariably end up buying them too big or too small.
By the time the next time comes and I remember to actually get some, I can't remember the size again. 😂

I found the perfect bin bags on Amazon. Fits snuggly, no excess flapping, tight around the top, sturdy enough to not rip but not too thick, draw string doesn't snap. Best of all, as they are on Amazon I can always find my old order to get the right size. They make me disproportionately happy.
I saw a camper van with roof box on the roof rack. It was a single width box, so long but skinny, tapered at the front for aero. A standard box, nothing unusual. Except, it had been fitted, by actual savages, sideways, so it was 90 degrees out, side on the wind.

I think its been mentioned before but the jaunty tune Samsung washing machines plat at the end of the cycle. I'd bet Subert would be dead chuffed about it, but also the fact that it finishes just a note short the actual end of the stanza.

For me this week it's people that will turn right across the front of you into a narrow residential road when you're patiently sat there trying to turn right out of it. It actually takes longer and makes their manoeuvre more difficult than letting me out first and then turning into the large space that is now available for them to use 😑

The call lasted 1hr 45 while we eviserated the whole thing for being more arduous, less professional and providing less critical data than the rattly old spreadsheet it is replacing.
Also a chance to witness staff from another business area proudly declaring that the ridiculous amount of time they had to spend being micromanaged to within an inch of their lives was the only "correct" way of working. Most odd. Corporate Stockholm syndrome in real time.

Too many work processes/applications that now need to be run through the web browser - you have umpteen different things you are trying to do through different systems & looking in the task bar all you can bloody see open is MS Edge. So you then have to scroll through the tabs to find the thing you actually need.
Then you finish with that one thing, hit the X and faaaarrrrrrkkkkkkkkkk have closed all of the other things that you still needed to be open.

Many years ago when I worked for a big famous US asset manager in London we had a company wide conference call, the agenda of which had been embargoed. Typically my train was late so I hopped off at a convenient station just in time to avoid the tunnels and fired up the old blackberry, dialled in and totally forgot to mute the call, which was to announce that our most famous and long serving fund manager was leaving.....the grand reveal of which according to my colleague was totally obscured by the very appropriate very loud platform announcement "THE TRAIN ON PLATFORM 6 IS NOW LEAVING....."
Luckily they never found out who it was, haha
