Hebden, Mytholmroyd Tod are flooding again, according to the Yorkshire Post.
Felt from the big shed roof is now longer on the big shed roof. Emergency tarp action inside. Not too much coming in yet. Mate coming over with his big ladder in a bit.
That’s going to be a fun time making emergency repairs in this wind and rain…..
Gauge levels starting to look nasty all over the place. Gauges at Glenridding and Staveley well above historic highs. Stay safe everyone.

Our neighbours wouldn't think to tie down their trampoline, however their yard is sort of protected by a big hedge. If it lifts up and damages my greenhouse, I will be a very unhappy bunnyhop.
One fence panel has gone in our garden and another has lost the top.
The bird feeder stand is at a precarious angle, also our pond had small waves on it.
3 fence panels, next doors BBQ and a hanging plant they had on one of the posts destroyed so far.
The two adjoining posts I've reinforced with unistrut but the gusts seem to be increasing in strength.
GFs sister lives in Tennessee and their town was pretty torn up by this storm.
We have a pond again, four years after I removed it.
Seen some scary footage from Hebden, roads looking like rivers, hope people are safe.
Power is back on! Also, it's ****ing LASHING it down
Anyone know any decent roofers in Rochdale? :-/
Flood alerts popped up all over round here suddenly - not much rain so far really but it's had nowhere to go
Very wet at the source of the Irwell, gardens flooded and we're on a slope, not seen this much water in a long time.
Just tried to drive back into Heptonstall from Wales, and every where along the valley floor is flooded , had to divert to Manchester, does anyone know if the Long Causeway from Burnley is open?
Had an interesting night. Got a Cave Rescue shout at just before midnight. Empty roads and horizontal rain all the way over to the call-out site. Then spent an hour from 1.30 till 2.30 on top of the hill (at about 1800 feet) in my waterproofs while trying to get comms with the underground team. Of course I didn't have a tent or shelter of any kind and it was properly exposed. Only thing I could do was to lie flat out on the grass with my head inside the Pelican box that holds the communication device. I was pretty glad to get the call to come back down to the hut. Was definitely a night where being underground would have been the better option 🙂
Overdue group found OK and helped out safe and sound
Just had a thunderstorm in Reading.
I was thinking that it was all an overreaction sat here in Northumberland following strong winds and a bit heavy rain it’s now pretty much gone. Then I seen Facebook posts of friends in Calderdale and just caught the news. Holy crap that’s pretty bad.
It’s “pretty bad” alright.
Calder/Irwell/Ribble/Wharfe catchments are getting hammered.
I'm hoping that the level in Mytholmroyd is a mis-read.

Similar here, but it's apparently due to worsen later.

If I had paid to watch this storm I would be asking for my money back.
East Devon coast has bit of a breeze with gusts coming through.
Forecast showing 'peeps' later so might talk a walk down to the prom and watch the waves unless the snooker is worth watching.
A good few years ago I was living out in LA, the local news there was somewhat different to ours. Earthquakes, forest fires, drug and gang related murders most nights, live hostage taking. Then coming back to England, local news was about an old lady’s fence had blown down and she’d lost her cat. This thread has brought back some amusing memories.
It’s windy and rainy here in the Midlands, nothing too bad though. Bins get collected tomorrow, so do I risk leaving them out or not? Decisions decisions.
About 10m of fence down, broken posts. What fence type thread coming soon,
The river Irwell has burst its banks in Ramsbottom. Sandbags are out and all the lower level stuff is underwater. Same as Boxing Day a few years ago. It’s going to get worse too. Constant heavy rain forecast for days
I’ve just come over Barton Bridge in horizontal rain like I’ve never seen. Traffic was down to about 10mph and you just couldn’t see a thing. Absolute deluge! Came off the motorway and parked up for a bit as it genuinely felt too dangerous to carry on. Never driven in conditions like that
I’m hoping that the level in Mytholmroyd is a mis-read.
I don’t think it is. The river and road look like they are one and the same now.
If it’s the same as here (which it usually is), then we’re in for severe flooding. There are roads closed here already as they’re impassable.
The road outside our house is covered in debris that’s run off the moors. It was like a river a couple of hours ago.
Intermittent power cuts here in Macc. Other than that it has been okay. Windy on and off and the same with the rain. Roof leaking (which it has been for ages) is the only downside.
Hope everyone from here who live in the W.Yorkshire hills are okay? Know how bad it can get from growing up in the area.
I suspect the planned Monday Night Pub Ride from Todmorden is no longer on.
The Calder Valley looks really bad, looking at what mates are posting up on Friendface 🙁
Stay safe folks

Just seen this.
Give me half an hour (Just got out of the shower) and I'll let you know.
Lost the felt from our shed roof...
Luckily I've repaired nearly all the fence posts with concrete spurs, so it's not going anywhere....
They’re starting evacuating areas around the River Irwell in Ramsbottom and Bury now. The river is now higher than it was a few years ago on the Boxing Day floods, which brought bridges down and caused huge amounts of damage

Nick, flooded at the Burnley end at the Kettledrum, no way through atm, the police have blocked access.
Local farmers trying to clear it now.
If you fancy a brew and you're in the area drop me a line.
We have a spare room if you need it.
Oooh! That looks really bad Binners. 😕
Perfectly normal winter weather here.
Taken the dog out for a fly this morning.
bit windy and showers in Sunny leith - actually sunny right now
Sunny in Leith? That is some freaky weather.
A few gusts up here in Aberlour but nothing too unusual for this time of year. It has picked up a bit in the last half hour or so though.
Stay safe those of you in firing line.
Cheers Rusty, thanks for taking the time to check, really appreciate it. 👍
I'll stay put in Manc
Actually Drac its called Sunny Leith for a reason - only a few little bits of the UK get more sunshine!
No worries fella.
Sunshine and clear skies now!
Good luck.
Steady in North Yorkshire, nowt to write home about
Someone’s just posted up this drone footage of what was until this morning our local park and cricket club and is all now part of the river Irwell
Just seen folk putting their plastic recycling wheelie bin out. Thick bastards.
Best of luck all of you in those flood affected areas. 😔

Don’t steal my fun sponge badge.
its called Sunny Leith for a reason
Who’s singing the song to themselves now?
Portland Bill was pretty epic. And more packed in the car park than a summer Bank Holiday. Gusting to 70 according to my wind gauge.
