I think it's up to force5-wheeliebin in Dundee.
The cat is not amused.

I'm in the Midlands, I'll be waking up through the night to see if any snow has fallen and phone will be on in case any trees come down. If either, or both happen I'll have to head into work to clear it on my own. I hope we get chuff all.

Hope everyone up there stays safe, as I mentioned in the snow thread it's the folk on the rigs in the North Sea I don't envy!

ScotRail going into meltdown already it seems, although I should have realised my train home from Glasgow had to battle down from Aberdeen first! Delayed...delayed... cancelled! 🙄

Just back from the harbour where I keen my sailing dinghy and tied it down with some fresh rope.

Two bigger boats left afloat had broken their moorings. We managed to salvage one and get it back on its mooring OK, but the other motorboat is going to spend the next 6 hours bashing into the down wind harbour wall. Odds are even on whether it’ll be afloat for long or get smashed to bits and sink. Nothing more we could do without serious risk of a person being squished

Very windy here and freezing cold as I have not switched on yet. Normally, I only switch it on in December.

Was planning to go out to get some weekly shopping but that's cancelled now.

We've hit two pegs for socks on the line in the borders. Got snowed on when out for my run.

Aye, did two loads of washing and got them out on the line.

Looking forward to a braw midnight paddleboarding at Portie beach

Left work to get home before it went dark leaving 400 kids stuck with no power or heat - power due to come back on at 2200 with luck. Provided its safe I'll leave for the morning shift tomorrow with the chainsaw in the boot just in case.

It's booming out there!

For God's sake tie your nightshirt down, we don't want it flapping and revealing more than we want to see!

Our arbour seat is blown over - it's at least 100kg and was pegged down using angle iron too. The windows are flexing at the moment - you can see the glass move in the gusts.

All very unusual here as we are really sheltered in an old railway cutting surrounded by trees. I suspect not all the trees will make it.

It's like being back in Killin.

I like Ventusky for that kind of animation - either way they're both a nice reminder that the internet can be wonderful 🙂

Poor lass the BBC stuck on Stonehaven harbour wall for the Six O'Clock bulletin didn't seem to be enjoying it much.

It's really quite unpleasant here in Dunbar. I expect some coastal flooding overnight. Don't think I'll be playing golf for a few days

I'm 10 miles south of Stonehaven and understand why. Pretty brutal for the past half hour or so.

Just been out to remove a tree from across the road with the chainsaw. I’m in SW Edinburgh, bit wild.

We thought the same- red weather warning, risk to life, let's stick a reporter out in it. Risk assessment anyone?

Tree down on the A9 north of Dunblane, almost clipped our wing mirror, glad we were already doing 45mph in the gusts and sleet...

Pretty windy in Tobermory, few folks are without power. Got noticeably windier as it got dark and had to rescue the garden furniture as it was on it’s way to Oban. There’s now a cold frame standing inside the front door plus it’s contents. The wind is strumming as it whistles over the roof ridge and the big lounge windows are flexing.

Breezier than normal in Backworth. (Might be guilty of moderate understatement.)

No power now and road both ways now blocked with felled trees. I have zero inclination to do anything about it tonight in the dark.

All mobile networks are down here in Aberlour. Craigellachie 2 miles along the road and Archiestown over the Spey have no power. Wife had a bit of a detour on the way back from Elgin as the road south of Rothes is now closed due to fallen trees.
Keep safe everyone.

Bit breezy here in Sunny leith - and a load of soot has come down the chimney!  due to the shape of the building it always sounds like it blowing a hooli but as the  wind is a northerly I am at least on the sheltered side of the building

I presume you’re joking, but if not I might come out to watch. There’s no chance you’d carry it as far as the sea - it’d be half way to Musselburgh before you knew it!

We’re used to heavy winds at Porty, but tonight it’s wild. It’s unnerving even in the house. All the doors are banging, water swelling up and down in the toilets…

Very windy here in kirkcudbright (Galloway) and power has been off for a couple hrs, thankfully I have a Tesla powerwall battery so “I’m alright Jack”, few trees down on the local roads into town. I’m surprised as to how windy it is here on the south west coast, must be be pretty wild up on the east coast.

Edit : just received this message from Scottish power,

This is an update for customers in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Due to the exceptional weather as a result of storm Arwen, we are sorry to advise that we now expect your power to be restored by 4pm on the 27th November. Our engineers are all deployed to faults where they can safely complete repairs, however, most faults will involve climbing in high winds and we unfortunately will not be able to assess and repair the damage on these until tomorrow. We will continue to assess the situation overnight and where possible restore supplies sooner if we can safely do so. If this situation changes we will keep you updated via our message service and web page. We sincerely apologise for the loss of power and thank you for your patience whilst this incident is ongoing.

So no power restored till tomorrow afternoon,

Power off in Dunblane for an hour.

Trees cracking is normal for a November day in Killin. I still remember the day my mother in law stood at the window overlooking the Dochart falls wondering how rain went sideways...
