My van has a ply wood floor in the rear and I've got myself some rubber matting/sheet that I want to cut to size and permanently stick down.

However, I'm unsure on what type of glue to use, so looking for recommendations. TIA

Aye, same sort of stuff i used in the transit.

Do both surfaces, give it a couple of mins to set a bit, then stick together... Works like a charm.

A tin of contact adhesive would be better value than a spray can. Consider the possibility of high temperature inside the van and its effect on the adhesive bond as well

Tin of evostik contact adhesive from Screwfix. It coped with several years of horses stomping over rubber matting on a plywood horsebox ramp

We have a load of thick (18mm) gym rubber matting in our workshop, it just sits on top of 18mm Ply. I installed it in summer and cut the sheets to me mm perfect fit. I notice that in winter, gaps appear between the sheets as they seem to shrink a few mm in the cold. Wonder if glue would stop that, or if they'd just break free...

Just stuck an EPDM roof onto my summerhouse, the glue was just a PVA based one.

Contact adhesive. You will be far better with the spray stuff. In a can presents it's own problems.

I used B&Q's own spray contact adhesive when putting the floor mats on the wall of my mini mat area. 2 years later and after abuse of 2 small boys bouncing off them they are still sticking perfectly.

Wall mats going up
