[Closed] sticking plastic onto glass

[#3512930]

I got a neat little outside thermometer for Christmas, which mounts to the outside of a house window. The mount is a flat piece of smooth plastic, about 6cm by 1cm, that needs attached to the glass and the unit then clips onto that

So far have tried :

the silicon pads it came with - fell off

super glue - fell off

self adhesive number plate mount strips - fell off

any ideas ?

Would it not be more suitable to mount it to the window frame rather than the glass? Or is the point that you can read it through the window without having to go outside?

Rusty - sorry, I didn't explain to well, yes, you mount it on the glass so you can read from inside

Clean thoroughly (with IPA if you have some, else just hot water/soap), then warm the glass up a bit with a hairdryer or hot air gun - if you have neither then run some hot water over it and dry. THEN stick it on.

VHB tape is brilliant if even after that, you're not having any joy getting it to stick.
