It's january yet the daffs are out and a small fly bounced off my ear while I was riding. What's going on? Has winter been suspended for a year? or will it ambush us later this month?

Got a face full of midges splatter into me on Sunday 🙂
Watched a woodpecker battering the telegraph pole outside my house to bits this morning.
No snowdrops though, and plenty of time for Feb to be bastard cold.

I did a double take on Saturday when I saw a swarm of midges on the trail 😮

Winter will ambush this weekend... the daisies and flowering gorse in Cornwall is going to get a shock to the system!!!

The forecast is for cooler conditions over the weekend, but a freeze is unlikely at the moment.
