Haven't we done this one yet?

My initial thought was what a stupid thing to take, but then reading further it appears it wasn't obvious it was significantly different to something like Red Bull (not that personally I'd choose to take that, though I have used flat coke and even caffeine tablets towards the end of events).

Or possibly, running marathons can kill. I suspect she'd have been fine if she'd have drunk the stuff whilst watching telly.

I dont thing that stuff falls into the nutrition supplements category.

Since when did news reporters worry about facts?! AFAIK although it's marketed on websites, etc under a broad "sports nutrition" banner, it contains no nutrients and is purely a stimulant (like caffeine or taurine).

One of the reasons* I DIY any sports drinks from bulk ingredients if I bother at all.

*the other being it's cheeper than the often quoted "orange juice and a pinch of salt".
