Having availed myself last week of a small compact (OM TG-7) I'm seeing a need for at least one, if not two, spare batteries for it, as the GPS and direction-finder electronics seem to burn through power quite fast. A quick check on Google and Amazon finds plenty of options and suppliers obviously, most of them with 4* ratings and above. Any body have recommendations for suppliers and brands based on real experience?
Over the years I've had loads of cheapo batteries for cameras and honestly it's been a lottery which ones lasted. My biggest fear has been them leaking or swelling, but luckily that hasn't happened. I stick to the manufacturers batteries now, for better or worse.
Rightio, ta.
Think I'll risk £20 £17 on a charger and 2 batteries i found on Ebay. They're each rated at 1500mAh, whereas the manuf original says 1350mAh and a single spare is £50 to boot. If they turn out to be w**k, it's not the end of the world.
Bit late to this but duracell direct from their website.
Hahnel have always been my go to for replacement Sony batteries. I think I researched it when I bought my first one many years ago.
Sold in cameras shops too
I picked up a couple of Duracell direct replacements for my Olympus PEN-F as it had the original one still, they last so long I probably could have just bought one! They weren't expensive either.
Thanks all. The stuff from Ebay is on its way now, but I'll monitor how many shots I can get from the Chinesium batteries and look to Hanhel or Duracell as future replacements if necessary
If they turn out to be w**k, it's not the end of the world.
Could be the end of your house though.
