Yeah my BiL is like this. Convinced the courts have no jurisdiction over him because Magna Carta and some of ill conceived bollocks.

Would love to see him up in front of a judge...

Excellent, You get the feeling he’s not going to have an easy time in jail.

Sorry to repost this, but Sovereign citizen vs dog cheers me up

My dad semi believes this fotl/sc bullshine, he has repeated to me several times the case of the guy in America who told the judge these laws don’t apply to him, and the judge got up and walked out.
He’s referring to the larry meads case, where it was the defendant who walked out.
It’s pure fantasy, the desire to basically not have laws that cause any inconvenience applying to them.
If it was so easy to remove yourself from the jurisdiction of these laws, literally nobody would ever go to prison ffs.

Similar case here in the IOM: IOMToday

The judge did not entertain her crap.

It's very easy. You just have to buy a boat and live your entire life at sea.

These vids can be quite addictive, I watched a bunch a while back and they always go the same way 😆

It's even funnier when there's a group of them, all resplendent in their 'sovereign citizen' t shirts, all feeding off one another.

This is the channel i watched the most.

It’s very easy, you just have to be Prime Minister.

It is possible to become sovereign over an area by acquiring it from the sovereign state that claims sovereignty over it. For example, you could have outbid the USA for Alaska when Canada wanted to sell it.

But probably best to set your sights lower, eg Sealand.

A more objective view from Wiki

****ing hell was that really necessary? It's one thing to have a dog chase someone down and apprehend but that was just a mauling! There were about 6 officers who have batons and presumably also guns.

Yep so probably safer for them (and him)to use a dog. Have you tried removing someone from a car who doesn’t want to come out?- not easy and a very high potential for someone getting badly hurt.

That sovereign citizen vs dog 🐕 thang has made my day. Dunning Kruger at its absolute finest. Greatly enjoyed the judge though too. Comedy gold

Large cop

"I got leg"

Dog

" I got arm"

😆

To be honest they bring it on themselves. They know, well you would think they know, that they havent got the exact same rights as they are claiming, and it will only ever end in them being arrested, which, from the vids ive watched, that is their end goal, as they can then put in a case in an attempt to sue for large portions of cash so they will never have to work again- Not that they are working, but any plan is a good plan for them.

I think the lesson we can all take from this is never be belligerent when there's a police dog involved. you want to say your piece, say it in court.

This one is very funny but very very unsafe for work, or if theres anyone with young ears, the profanity is off the scale. Result is the same though

Instinctively I would agree with this. But, the problem is they really do believe and until we get to grips with that we will continue to encounter Sov Cits, anti-vaxxers, q-anons, and trumpists.

I’m not suggesting we get down to their level, I’m certainly not suggesting they are rational, but we have to accept that these are apparently “meaningful” beliefs to a significant minority of people and by doing so open a line of engagement.

Unfortunately, many people in our (and probably all country's) criminal justice system are there because they have mental health issues, are easily manipulated, have had truly awful experiences in the past which make them behave differently under stress to "the rest of us" and/or have addiction issues caused by those factors or that accentuate those factors - or very often all of the above. The judge can only use the tools had has available to him and so the inevitable consequence for uncooperative people is likely to be custody, but actually as a society rather than constantly vying for longer sentences for every crime we could do with taking a long hard look at how the individual in the dock ended up there and how to avoid them ending up back there. Politicians aren't interested in solving this because its not a quick win and won't get votes.

The thing I don't understand is who they think will come to their aid? If you (laughably) believe the laws don't apply, then the judge in front of you is an agent of this system of oppression. Are you hoping that your words will somehow convince a judge that all their training and their whole career in the law is invalid? And that the judge will do a 180° pivot and release you?

Even if you believe the laws are invalid, there's a whole bunch of very organised people with batons, handcuffs and jail cells that clearly aren't going to simply let you go.

Why do these nutters think this will ever work?

Because there are lots of videos produced by them which go along the lines of judge/cop/whomever is left baffled and silenced by the arguments. The police seem to have got used to them now but in the past it went along the lines of.
Cop stops someone for some driving, sorry, travelling offence.
Cop tries to deal with the almost certainly minor offence quickly and without hassle. Possibly just a ticket or even a quiet warning.
Person starts waffling.
Cop tries to have sensible discussion.
Person keeps going
Cop blinks and goes quiet clearly having an internal debate of "arrest or section?"
Video ends claiming that it shows the cop have been defeated by the superior knowledge of the law.

I'm not an expert here but it is my understanding that the criminal justice system wants to do just this, but politicians keep interfering to appease 'string em up' type conservatives and pander to the gutter press.

There was a judge (Canadian I believe) who did some work deconstructing their beliefs and he categorised some of these folks from fantastical believers,  to conspiracy theorists,  and loners who're really trying to escape society,  opportunists, all the way to extremists and the gurus that prey on the unwary and unsuspecting.

Thankfully no so I'll take your word for that.

Looks ****ing horrific though. "STOP FIGHTING THE DOG" yeah okay mate, putting up a real good fight while face down on the ground with one arm behind my back screaming in terror 🤷‍♂️

Liked this comment from YT:

The dog wasnt biting you, His teeth were just traveling into your arm

It's all from the same narcissistic mental wellspring as conspircacy theories, the desire to 'know something you don't' and the same 'I'll do as I damn well please' instincts as the anti-mask, anti-lockdown brigade.

I'd have a (tiny) bit more sympathy if all their grandstanding and nonsense was'nt generally being deployed to try and get some total arse with zero regard for others, out of a situation they'd have ever been in in the first place if they hadn't been behaving like a total arse with zero regard for others.

I enjoyed those Ragical vids - right up my street in terms of content, Dutch accent commentary and low-budget but effective production values.

That video just made me feel sick. Whatever my feelings about the ‘philosophy’ of these people, those cops were being unnecessarily violent and sadistic. That dog was allowed to continue tearing his arm to pieces while he was already completely prone, compliant and suppressed. Cruel and unusual arrest, IMO.

Pity Andy didn't go this route if he went to court.

Andy "My rights under the Magna Carta say..."

Judge, "Sir, your forebears didn't recognize the legitimacy of that document, in fact went to war over it."

Andy, now sweating, ".... but.... one is not the person this litigation applies to, I am an individual!"

Judge, "Yes Sir, you certainly are 'a one'."

Anyone in the least surprised that this guy was from Florida?😁

I reckon Trump is using some mass raygun tech to destabilise Floridian citizens.

Anyone else concerned about the use of animals to control people in these situations…? From both an animal rights and human rights perspective, I’m not keen on the use of animals as a weapon.

I need to get in my car and 'travel'.....

WTAF!! ? there are some really messed up people on this planet..

I think citing 'Magnum-Carte 'dor' would be better...

So just to be clear, Arturo Pinto is innocent? That needs to appear on a bridge over the M25 someday. Bizarrely I actually feel relieved.

Thanks Andrew, how did you find this?

To be clear Arturo Pinto was the next guy, I was just so enthralled by the court TV, and they cut it right there.

But yeah, case dismissed, so as far as I am concerned he is innocent!

Ha! That would be great wouldn't it? 99.9% of people passing it would be thinking whf, the other .1% would be having a good chuckle!😁

In fact...
