My phone contract is coming up for renewal and Orange have offered me a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 to renew.
I was asking them for a non-smartphone phone but I see that this runs android which interests me as I like the look of android.
Does anyone have any experience with one? What are they like?
I have an x10 which is pretty much the same phone but bigger. I love it just back sure you upgrade the android version to 2.1 as its 10X better.
Not sure what camera the x8 has but my x10's 8MP camera is great we have blown photos up to A3 with no loss of quality. Loads of Apps battery last twice as long as an iphone and Angry birds is free 🙂
i have an x10 and like it... except that its now being superseded and sony are not releasing the latest android software for it. so check that the x8 will not be in the same boat.
X8 and X10 not likely to be getting any official releases of Android, beyond 2.1 AFAIK.
Neither have multi-touch, although the X10 is getting it, of a fashion at some point soon.
TBH I like my X10i a lot and have had not issues with it in 10 months. Given the X8 is similar, but slightly lesser specc'd i'd say yes.
OH and the X8 and X10 are 2 versions behind the current Android release (2.3 now)
