Steve Wright just played "I'm waiting for the man" by the Velvet Underground! Since when was a song about going to see a drug dealer acceptable playlist material for R2? Not that I'm complaining, it's a cracking tune, just never though I'd hear it on Steve Wright!

i did a conference where they wanted to use 'walk this way' as a walk up sting
i tried to explain the general theme of the song but it was lost on them
I think it's part of the show, where someone writes in to have their fav. tunes played.

Dave Pearce Dance Anthems is now on Radio 2. Although he plays quite a bit of pap occasionally a good old dance tune sneaks through.
I guess the children of the chemical generation are getting to that age when we are supposed to start retuning our radios to the light program rather than Radio 1.
Venom or Celtic Frost probably wouldn't make it!
