Should anyone turn up, I would like to comfort them with the feeling that I have not regretted my life.

Is it that rather than being morbid, we would want to consider what one song could surmise our lives?

Strange thread, the subject about which I do not want to think about too much.

However, songs that come to mind straight away are:

"IT" by Prince on the "Sign 'O' the times" album

"Country" by Paul Weller on the Wild Wood ablum is just utterly beautiful.

But, for pure awesomeness..
"Ascent, an ending" By Brian Eno is just wonderful

I've buried too many of my own, its a terrible thing, and not a subject to dwell on, imo.

But the subject of beatiful music ?, well, thats someting else.

Chasing Rainbows by Shed Seven

Good choice. Top tune.

I'd go for 'Going Home' -Theme from Local Hero by Dire Straits.

Been at a cremation a few years ago and the song played as the coffin went into the flames was the Doors "Come on Baby light my fire".
His own choice and wish, what a legend he was, wanted people to laugh and not cry at his funeral....
