As above, looking for a b and b to stay for a night. Preferably to the south/middle and east of the peaks. Village with good pub, b&b and close to good walking if possible. Thanks for any input!

I'd say Ashbourne, Wirksworth, Bakewell, Matlock for starters. All are the larger towns so good for pubs/restaurants/eateries and bus routes and close enough to decent walking. Castleton is nice too. There are loads of really nice villages all over but not sure what they're like in the evenings for pub options. Some might be a bit quiet.
