I don't really have a problem with it so long as people get treated equally. Ie, if I can go for a not-smoking break for five minutes every hour, it's all good. Otherwise I'm working for 3-4 hours longer per week than everyone else.

I'd guess this has been done many times already, but I will nip out for a fag, wash my hands and stick a chewing gum in my mouth on way back to desk (it does stink, and it's a nasty habit).
Good luck with trolling some 'time taken on a fag break V productive hours contributed to my employer' argument. Whether people are ****less, lazy or just plain incompetent, is more important than whether someone nips out for a quick fag, or whether they save up their shits for time at work, or moderating at the same time *jokey nudge*
