I'm near completion of my lounge overhall. However all of the work left the floor looking a right mess even though I tried to protect it.

I looked at refinishing myself, but in the end it looked like there was a little more to getting a good finish so got some quotes and got a company in to do it.

It looks fantastic, but feels very rough - so much so that socks catch on it when walking. Has it been done properly? I must admit I was expecting it to be nice and smooth.

Sounds a bit odd, I re-sanded the kitchen floor with 180 grit and then varnished it, very smooth finish.
