I wanna know how match the multi millionaire Lewis Hamilton puts in to help the Filipino kids he just spoke to, nothing puts me off donating more than the worlds richest people telling me to dig deep.

Soccer Aid?

Do me a favour.

If "Soccer" cared, then this lot would be donating a LOT more money to charity.

However, they're not all bad.

George Weah, Zinadine Zidane, even Craig Bellamy. There are some truly good people within the sport.

However, the corruption and money that is rife within soccer could go to much, much better use.

To be fair to the England team they give all their match fees when playing for England to charity.

Eh? They get paid to play for their country?

That'll be partly met through taxpayer funding then. Which could instead have gone to good causes...

I await a similiar polemic on say how much more the top 100 FTSE companies could do or the CEO of these companies to help the needy. Will i have along wait?

Jesus wept Flash if anyone on here supports greed it is you ...I would rather imagine if these people had just slightly better breeding and did this you would be lauding them as a "success" and an example to us all by their hard work you utterly bankrupt hypocrite. This really is just snobbery.

Any chance you could **** off from footy threads and manage to leave them alone like many folk manage to leave your Friday soft porn threads alone?*

* i believe you have rebranded it of late but I can return the compliment on that thread if you wish..perhaps with all the other footy fans ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

It is indeed a very good cause, and there are, as mentioned above, some very good people within soccer. I just wish there were more of them in the game.

Equally, Junky (You touchy old soul, you! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I wish that there was an increase in charitable donations from commerce. The philanthropy that was prevalent for the Victorian era is a good thing in many ways. The likes of Peabody should be praised as highly as possible and seen as an fine example.
