I'll no doubt watch some of the events, but I'm not into the whole opening ceremony deal, tbh.
I might have a quick look to see what they've put together.

Will probably watch it as the wife owns the remote & I need to rest my torn calf muscle :/

Just one question, what time are the actual sports people parading with the flags? As it seems a bit unfair on the cycling types doing the RR tomorrow morning if they are all up late the night before!

Oh and Binners stop all this talk of roast beef I'm bloody starving and could just murder a roast dinner <drool>

Most athletes who are competeing over the next couple of days won't be at the ceremony.

Driving up to Catton Park this afternoon for the thunder-run tomorrow. Was expecting to be sat in a field with a few beers, but now noticed on facebook that addidas are going to be showing it on some big screens.
Which is nice.

I'll be watching. It my -1 year wedding anniversary tonight (we get married in a year, not we were divorced a year ago!) so I am cooking something nice and getting a bottle or 2 of wine on the go. I'm then taking my folks to the Olympic Park tomorrow and will hopefully catch some of the road race as well.

I for one can not wait, I bloody love the Olympics.

Shall be sat in the garden drinking beer, after bbq-ing some burgers.

Here too, but it won't be a quiet beer for me! We have(well the Mrs has) invited round all the neighbours for beer, bbq, games for the kids!

Apart form one family, who just moaned and said no! Then an hour latter asked if it was ok for their kids to come over and watch? 😯

I might take a look at the opening ceremony if I remember. 9pm is it it?

Top Gear might be showing on Dave though so I might not...

YEP!

Heading to a big screen in London to sit in the sun with some beers and friends (I heard the fireworks are going to trigger the ground-to-air missiles 😉 )

Off to see the road race on Saturday, then MTBing on Sunday.

If only to laugh at the commentary on french telly. I don't think that it's going to be a millesime this year; The grapes are far too sour in places 8)

I'll be in the pub as usual, but as there's a large telly on the wall I'll probably be watching it. No objections to it anyway.

I'm assuming the countries come out in Alphabetical order, . . but one doesn't like to assume , . . . so?

Ahh that makes sense, TBH I was thinking that's going to be a bloody big procession if all the sporting bods had to march through.
Yes I'm having a dumb down Friday 😉

Getting a bit giddy here with excitement(no change then from normal).
I've even kept up the union Flag bunting for the next 17 days.

Who can resist all those athletic types prancing about the arena?

Yes.

Better still, there won't be any Guardian/Mail readers about wallowing in borrowed outrage.
