I've never had turkey at Xmas since the 80s
Christmas dinner is the only part of Christmas I participate in.
10 years ago it was probably me, I bought 3 gifts on Xmas Eve (Mum, Dad and Sister) never decorated my flat, my Xmas day consisted of going to Mums for lunch, staying an hour and heading home again to enjoy the silence.
These days I open the first Heineken on Xmas Eve and stay mildly pished till Boxing Day. Come one, come all.
Bought the wife a present. That's it.
Standby Christmas eve this year. Was on standby Christmas day last year.
I am working 7 am 'til 8pm 24/25/26 :-). The funny thing is I have to make Christmas a fun occasion for the patients - its a lot of work but good.
TJ my son thinks Christmas in the learning disabilities facility is a great laugh. He's not unhappy to cop for a shift over the festive period. Somehow we appeared to have raised a diamond (despite my efforts).

I’m a at work 7am to 7pm 24th through to the 27th comes with the job and I’ve plans to make things a little easier for the staff.
Makes a change from being drunk from 23rd until well into new year as that was nice any good.
I challenge any postie who hasn't got a very easy duty to still enjoy Xmas these days! Internet shopping has changed a typical duty from having less than one sack of parcels outside Xmas and no more than two in the Xmas build-up, to typically 2+ outside and 3-7 in the run-in... With so many people getting stuff delivered at home when they're not going to be in! 😡

I don't buy anyone anything, i don't eat any extra food and i loath it with a passion, total nonsense that brings only false hope, misery and crap you don't know what to do with when you move house.

I tried to persuade my wife and son that there's no point them (I never do it anyway) putting a tree of decs up as we're away at family's for a fortnight. Sadly they weren't having it. Xmas for me is just a nice couple of weeks off work, not interested at all and I once got in trouble for hanging up knackered old decs and flat balloons over my desk at work as a protest lol!
Someone did put up some A4 print outs of me plus a photo of the grinch up last year so I reckon I am in the running.
That said this years tactic of not being in the office is working nicely so far in avoiding the shit.

I used to not care either way, but now Funk Jr is four I love it. Not for the presents and all that shite, but just for the look of wonder on his face with all the decorations. Also love spending time with Mrs F’s family because they’re great and we all love the family get together.

Exactly the same as me. Although I like the 2 days holiday as it is a great time to go out riding in the morning as the roads are completely empty.
I used to hate Christmas loads because of the expectation to be happy.
Then I got married and I hated it even more because I had to spend more time with the wife’s family .
Then I had kids and I hate it three times more because it costs me four times as much, and I still have to spend time with the family in law !

Xmas does nowt for me either. I usually buy the Mrs some shite on xmas eve cos I can't remember any of the things she's said she likes over the last 12 months or hinted at, I complain when the tree has to appear from the loft (it only needs taking out of the box & plugging in, still a chore) & all we have is a glorified Sunday dinner on xmas day.
We went to my stepdaughters last year & couldn't wait to get home (although the food was awesome) & I'd hate to be invited to my son's MIL's cos she's well over the top.

I like christmas, lots of nice food and some decorations and an excuse to not do very much when the weather is probably shite anyway. Sorry.

The wife and I haven't sent any cards, decorated the house or bought any presents for xmas for years and years. It is a complete non-event in our household (we are childless out of choice). For xmas dinner one year I had a pot noodle on a camp stove after climbing the highest hill on Dartmoor in the fog. Another time we did a lap of the Verderers in the FOD and had the place to ourselves.
It is the local carol service tonight. I won't be there
Christmas... the annual commercial circle jerk with the bonus of being taken up the shard as all the stuff bought for the 24th is either landfill or reduced on the 26th.....
It is a chance to get out with friends as opposed to sitting on the settee watching The Great Escape/Dambusters/Hero's of Telemark/Shrek bloated, forcing down the sherry to counter the stale wafts of piss from Granny who is snoring, dribbling and farting way too close to the scented candles ....
I try and get away if at all possible.....

Love going out a nice walk, shops shut, pubs shut, not much traffic, and people you pass actually smile and exchange pleasantries.

I even volunteered to arrange the office Christmas party next week (ie dinner out for me and my wife). Only cos I learnt I can get £150 per head tax free out of expenses 🙂

I'm no fan of Christmas. I just think it's a shame that something that should be the highlight of the year, for religious or non-religious reasons, has been so truly messed up by the pressure to spend money, and eat/drink yourself stupid, just because 'it's Christmas'. I blame the internet.

I can ignore adverts, I have Christmas on my own terms. I feel no pressure.
I dislike xmas with a vengeance. It is obscene and one of the few things I find offensive.
