Coughs and sneezes spread diseases

Yeah, I've no idea where that came from. Nerves I think.

You know, I'd often wondered what Fred Dibnah would sound like after inhaling a helium balloon...

The question that strikes me is what are you doing listening to these 2 idiots on the radio?

There was me thinking you'd said 'uncrossed knees, spread diseases'.  I think that says more about me than you, though I think I might use my misheard quote in the future 🙂

I've never listened to Absolute Radio’s Drivetime (obviously... as a graphic designer, I'm required to listen to 6 Music by law), but would I be right in picturing...

I am sure there was a poster on the wall of the convent that said that.

In all honestly I wasn't doing so intentionally, it just happened to be on and it's inoffensive. The station I was turned to was Absolute Classic Rock, I listen to what the radio amusingly calls "Absolute CRock" when there's nowt better on Planet Rock. Pickings are thin on UK radio at the best of times.

I've had to go into my brain and re-wire the bit that has a mental image of Cougar so that the new image matched his 'new' voice. It wasn't an easy job.

If it's any consolation, so did I. You don't generally hear your own voice very often.

I might give that a listen @Cougar thanks for sharing

Folks mentioned ads. I think it might have been on one of the various Wi-Fi or Internet threads on the forum that I heard about ‘Pi-hole’. I had a raspberry pi hanging around in a drawer and had it set up fairly quickly. Probably could’ve used my NAS but now I have more blinky lights in the cellar.

Pi-hole works as a local DNS server. It uses a mix of block/allow lists of internet domains and pattern-matching to stop machines on your LAN receiving data for their ad requests. Rather like a useful net nanny.

it doesn’t catch everything for various reasons. It has though changed so many sites from ‘😡 more 💩 space-filling ads’ to clean, empty space between content chunks.

lots of other ways to achieve the same result.

The piece starts at 11min 40s. @cougar is on at 15min 15s.

nice explanation. Brief. Liked your ‘coughs & sneezes’ response to their aphorism. Fairly common reaction in a tense situation where you try and fit in with the conversational norms.  Interesting that the guys jam together a few IT fears: ad targeting, mic surveillance, and webcam hacking.
