Do you have insurance that will cover you in the event you can't go? eg civil unrest. It might be unlikely but you never know.
In Greece last summer, the aim seemed that my holiday expenditure for 2 weeks would cover the national debt.
On a serious note, don't expect cards to be accepted, cash in hand only will be the rule.

It was mentioned in today's paper that debit/credit cards should not be relied on, take cash in pounds/euros.
Possibly dollars and roubles as well... 😉
