A makita cordless drill from my mum and a proper cowbell from my dad. I am inordinately happy with both. I suspect neither featured on any 'what to buy women' gift lists anywhere.

Since we just had new granite kitchen countertops put in this past week, that was the mutually agreed Christmas (and birthday and anniversary) present with Mrs busydog.
Stepson and wife coming by for dinner in a couple of hours and rumor has it they are bringing me a very expensive bottle of Japanese whiskey, so all is not lost.

Oooooh - which one? I'm off to Tokyo in January, so will top up my stash I seem to have drunk over the festive period.

Both sons home, thus the family is complete again.
A walk in the woods, good food afterwards. Skypeing my absent family.
It's been a good day.

No bike stuff this year, but I sure can't complain... Yikes! She was paying attention to the nose prints I left on the Omega store window in Las Vegas lol!

Various bits and bobs here, but main presents were tickets to 2 comedy shows (paddy McGuiness & Sarah millican) plus a pair of tickets to see the stone roses in the summer!

Also a 6 month coffee subscription, not sure that it'll fully feed my addiction, but will help.

My wife and son have been incredibly generous this year:

Bottle of balvenie Carribean cask, bottle of Jura superstition, load of craft beers, Rapha h van model, Rapha mechanics apron, tweed jacket, tweed bedroom athletic slippers, plus lots more lovely things.

We don't normally buy each other much so I was a bit overwhelmed.

A selection of warm clothes including a couple of lovely fleeces and a new dressing gown to laze about in, running socks, a big box of High5 gels and a slow cooker.

Tips from customers were put to use getting euros for our week in Spain starting later today, and I also used some to order a couple of Cards Against Humanity expansions and a bigger box to hold it all.

Bikey stuff this year was a pair of waterproof shorts, an Osprey Talon 6 and one of those folding bike stands that slot into the HT2 axle.

And not bikey stuff.

Steven Terry's sumptuous new book about cooking.
A VERY cool refillable proper Japanese fude.
Rotring 900 pencil.
Lego McLaren P1.
One of these in black

My dad got a dashcam, not overly impressed with its functionality tbh. Lots of manual intervention required.

A dongle for Trainer Road and some Rapha chamois cream. Christmas is such fun! Useful for this weather though.

ordered my first ever complete bike at the lbs, but it hasn't landed yet. Been tooling around on their demo bike for a couple of weeks and it was going to be too hard to hand it back.

That's the shop's; ordered mine in 105 flavour as it's going to be a bad weather workhorse.

Chuffin hell!!! That Omega is a £5500 watch!!

What a waste of money, even if I could afford it.

tweed bedroom athletic slippers

One presumes, with a grippy sole. Or cleats. Or a little pocket for holding a pump of lube....

Interesting idea 😉
