Snowboard bags on Eurostar (not snow train)

Hi,

Has anyone taken a snowboard rollerbag (or similar) on Eurostar recently? I've just read on their website that you're supposed to tell them in advance if your bag is more than 85cm long and this one is more like 166cm. Searches online seem to show people just turning up without telling them in advance and getting on without any problem, has anyone here done that recently?

Thanks!

NBT here - we took the friday night train to paris in Jan '23 with skis (bag was about 175) and there was no issue whatsoever, no-one batted an eyelid. Just be pleasant and I doubt they'll even ask you about it. Bag went up on the racks above seats with no problems

We have also just returned from the Alps via Eurostar. No issues with skis on a standard train, several people had them.

We took ours on LNER, Eurostar, RER, SNCF and SBB with no issues. Lots of trains, I like trains.....
