... please
Nothing too fancy but need bindings fitted and checkover by someone who knows what they're doing (heard too many stories of badly drilled skis to a) do myself or b) go just anywhere and have the YTS lad do it)
I'm Southampton/Portsmouth area so I know of Snowtrax in Ringwood, S&R in Port Solent and Rinski in Bosham but never used any of their workshops
Any tips for places South of about Sheffield would be helpful (e.g. is the place in Leamington still there & any good, or that guy in Lambley, Notts ?)
Was gonna say Rinskis or Snow & Rock 😁
used Rinskis when they were in Havant and they did a decent job.
Have had a board serviced at S&R , no complaints
S&R Chertsey usually has the best of their techs, but I haven't been in for ages.
TBH, I doubt it's hard to go wrong - as long as they have the relevant template and know how to use it (and I guess I can at least ask/see if they have one)
Did my own skis last time but I was 20 and reckless (and a bit drunk), though it turned out nearly bang on. These are wider skis (Obvz) and I have a feeling may be easier to **** up
(oh, and thanks chaps !)
I doubt it’s hard to go wrong
sounds worrying !
oh, err, yeah - I mean, y'know
(though I think my 1st intention (when I did the beer-assisted purchasing) of downloading a printable template and using that and "a steady hand" ...)
We use Ski Exchange just outside Cambridge. He's fitted bindings for me, services skis etc. Very good service.
Used to use Ski Bartlett when I lived that way (Uxbridge / Hillingdon). Not far from the top of the M3.
Edge and Wax in Partridge Green, West Sussex. Half way between London and Brighton. Great shop that have sorted bindings for me in the past. They also do a good boot fitting service.
If coming form Solent area you could make a trip of it and get a ride in around the Surrey Hills whilst they are being done. The Downslink disused railway cyclepath passes through the village. Head north on a bike for an hour and you are in the Surrey Hills, south for an hour and you are on the Sussex coast or South Downs Way.
Partridge green is also the home to Darkstar Brewery, they have a great tap pub in the village called The Partridge which also does good food. There is also a bike distributor in the village and Exposure lights are also based there.
Thanks all - will have a think
Could get to Bartlett's quite easily as it's near the inlaws, and Partridge Green sounds ace (you on the tourist board, peekay ?!)
