To be honest, at the moment I’d murder to go out clubbing and I doubt any of that lot would be up for it.

I dunno about clubbing but I'd bloody love to go to a good festival this summer with my mates.

RepackRider is mountain biking royalty, I love my cycling history so I’d love a beer or two with him

Mattoutandabout seems to reply to my posts and share a lot of interest so I’d have a beer with him over a fire after a days paddling in open canoes.

I’d be unable to stretch him as it’d be like kicking a can down an alleyway 😡

@munrobiker @tjagain @scotroutes @swavis we need to invade a certain west coast campsite once we’re all through this

I’d be up for clubbing, however I’d need a nice quiet corner with a comfy chair for a sit down every half hour or so

If we skip the pub I'd go a good night of dancing with you. Can we nip over to Glasgow though?

I meant dancing, not clubbing in the caveman sense.

@houns, I'll be heading back there this year so I'm keen to go on a trip there that you won't show up for 😉

If only there was an event where mountain bikers could meet up, ride around a bit doing serious and silly competitions and the kick back with a few beers listening to some great live bands playing on stage.

Ideally there would be a mix of camping, log cabins or you could bring your caravan and it would have to be somewhere scenic like the middle of the New Forest.

Can anyone think of how such a thing might happen?

It was cancelled last year for some strange reason but it planned to go ahead this year and I will be there so anyone who had me on their list come to the Big Bike Bash at the end of August!

Once we’re back to something resembling normality, hopefully on dry dusty summer trails, I’ll definitely be organising a forum ride then.

Out on our great local trails, then finishing here to sit out in the beer garden and talk bollocks with you lot

Finishing a group ride at a decent boozer? Imagine that?

To be honest, I’d be happy to have drinks with most of the folk on here. Heck, I’d even have appreciated the chance to sit down with Woppit over a beer.

Binners because I think he needs a Pint in a Pub, and I mean needs.

Scotroutes and Metalheart for the same reason Colin gave, and I suspect @Metalheart has had his penchant for being relentlessly sarcastic curtailed over the last year.

Id also like to get Perchy, TJ, Big and Daft, and Chewk together in one place, just to see how that diversity would play out.

Be good to have a beer with @bearnecessities too

I believe that sir is more than familiar with the ample crisps selection at the H&H. Hopefully we’ll be sat in the beer garden sampling them soon.

I’d love to catch up again with Chris Hadaway (troute lights)

Troutie passed away last year I'm afraid mate... Was a thread on here expressing condolences a while back (can't find it right now).

I probably owe SSStu a pint... Not sure he realises it, but his incessant targeted trolling of me 3/4 years back helped me no end customer wise (still had my bike shop back then), had so many enquiries that turned into sales off the back of this! 😉

Northwind... One of the few people I've not met yet off here that I have felt some kind of cameraderie for. Plus, it would mean I'd be in Scotland to have a beer with him, which is a bonus.

Pepper, Salsaboy, psling et al... But it would have to be in a dingy "locals only" kinda pub in the Forest of Dean again, for posterity... 😂 Sooooo many memories from the early days of this forum!

Mattjg... Having bought a bike off me years ago, we only finally met recently (socially distanced!), and we are definitely long overdue a pint together!

Or quite frankly, as Rocketdog put... Anyone as it would mean we're allowed to go to a pub again!

TJ, always seems like a lovely if slightly argumentative fella. And he dropped me a DM when I was struggling a few months back which was lovely of him.

Houns, as I can’t work it how our paths haven’t crossed anyway. We live in the same small town for a start.

But as above, there are very few bag eggs here and a shared love of bikes and beer means I’d happily enjoy a pint with the vast majority of you.

TJ is a top chap. Spent a few happy hours with him and several others pushing BMWs up a snow covered access road after a bike race. Shame he couldn't hang around for a pint as we had a cracking night at The Church afterwards.

My wish to share a beer with Chris was a reflection that he is no longer with us.

I met him a couple of times and at a singletrack event in Rossendale as well as I stated he made my light which I still use.

I wanted to resurrect my light and tried to connect with him as I had been off the site and off the radar for a number of years.

Eventually I got in touch with Mark at MTB Batteries and he told me about his sad loss.

As some others have said it would be great to hook up the majority on here.

Binners, if there is room for “the slow lad at the back” I’m up for the Rammy ride/drink.

I’ll be doing my usual General Melchet routine and ‘leading’ from the rear, so you can join me in my traditional ‘tail gunner’ position

I ‘guide’ rides by shouting instructions at riders disappearing into the distance half a mile in front of me, which they ignore and get lost.

Apart from the last descent to the pub, at which point I suddenly become the fastest rider on the planet 😃

I'll be back drinking in the Hare n Hounds as soon as it reopens. So if I see anyone with a bike I'll assume they are STW affiliates and say hi. 😃

@TJ

*feels unloved*

I was going to mention you before I saw your post TJ. We could talk about raptors!

I'd have a pint with anyone who doesn't mention politics or brexit in every sodding breath.

Ahh, are we all having a love-in? Why not, there isn't much else to do and there are some proper interesting/kind/funny people here.

Maccruiskeen is one of the nicest people I've ever met though, and his Mum, and it was a night to remember. Well, if I could remember it; I never did find my wallet or fart the same again.

And another shout for the forum mascot/political pacifist that is Binners. Only time I met him he was slightly pissed, natch, but a clearly hospitable, considerate and decent type. A proper northerner. He also did a commission for me recently which nearly went a bit south on the timings front (it was a gift for the OH's birthday) because of a genuine misunderstanding - yet he pulled out all the stops (and considerable additional time & expense) to make sure things got sorted. Just a lovely thing to do.

I'd also actually quite like to meet Mark & the other people that make this weird place tick*

Advert for Binners, because I know he tends to shy away from self-promotion.

[img] [/img]

*I wouldn't though, I'm as antisocial as they bloody come, but I like his grumpiness and their writing style. Hannah's recent E-bike article was lovely 🙂

TL;DR, there are too many good folk on here to list and I reckon we would go out of our way to help either one of us, even if it involved <shudder> socialising.

Me and Daz will spend all day talking about politics and Brexit on here, but in real life, in all the years I’ve been riding with him, and during many, many post-ride pints we have never ever mentioned either. Nor will we 😃

Not when I briefly met him he wasn't. Though that must be about 12 years ago now. Bloody hell!

A Greggs gift card 😃

And it did come out rather well (even if I do say so myself )

I have actually met, ridden with and had a beer with a load of folk from here. Many years ago I organised a Quantocks ride where a few folk turned up and Sharki acted as our guide. another occasion Met up with the Binners and other assorted southerners at rivi for a day out - with both beer and cake. there was the STW tandem weekend in North Yorks. Met ton for a day ride in the Borders and then the touring weekend he organised. Then there was the old TBC wed night rides which were good fun and a few other days out around the place

I'm looking forwards to Tempest Brewery being open again and meeting a couple of the locals that helped me decide to move up here.
Already met quite a few people from here over the years.
Had some epic rides and equaly epic pissups with a few on several occasions. 🍻

have a turn publishing the 500 Internal Server Error at random times

Why the massive reduction? I quite like the STW roulette wheel of 'will I get a server error when I clock on this link' every time I use the site.

Edukator, independent minded and puts an interesting and considered point of view even if you don't agree with him.

And welsh farmer, comes across as genuine and worldly wise

I’m definitely up for any group ride that ends with cake. Badly out of shape from two bouts of Covid, but can bimble with the best.

One of my mates owns tempest, great beer. They sponsored our team at the last GT7. Good to know the crowds will be back once this is all over.
