[#4718435]

Morning all, when out before Xmas I started to get knee pain. Ended the ride as it was hurting. Rested up and no knee pain. Compete in a race and was in agony as the pain gradually came back. Finished the race and rested over Xmas period. Went out yesterday and it's back again. The pain is in my right knee on the inside, no swelling. Was told it might be the it band, hut looking at info on that it appears I would suffer pain on the outside of three knee.
Anyone suffered the same? Don't think it's cleat position as they haven't changed at all. But doing my head in as the pain can be quite bad!

I had this. Posted on here. Was advised to adjust saddle height (even though my saddle/shoes/cleats had been the same for ever). Tried, didn't work. Mentioned it to physio when I was there for my back. He said when your quads get tight they push your kneecaps down, which hurts. He gave me this stretch: stand upright, bend your leg up behind you, catch it with your hand (we all know this one, but here's the new part) - clench your buttocks together to lock the top of the quad. Hold for 30 seconds. 5 times each side 3 times a day. BE CAREFUL of your back, I have a back condition/long body so I have to bend forward slightly in order not to compress my spine. Also, expect it to take six weeks to work. I did it every day for a week and complained to the physio that it wasn't working - he said he wasn't surprised after a week and to keep at it. (I said a week is a long time in karinofinetime 😆 )

Get a good physio to check you over. The more you ride, the more opportunity there is for little things to cause bigger problems. Mine knows I have no money so kindly gives me lots of exercises and things I can do without needing loads of repeat visits.
