I have a single skin garage wall, the inside has previously been painted with masonary paint and is showing a few signs of damp stains
I was going to give it a coat of gloss so it's easier to clean but my pal says gloss will hold the damp in and cause it to peel ? (Apparently the matt paint alllows the wall to breath)
To gloss or not to gloss ?
Not, it'll just fall off i reckon.
I'm trying not to imagine why you might need to have "easy to clean" garage walls...

Gloss an entire wall? Seems odd. Better to weather seal the outside I reckon, and make sure the guttering is up to scratch too. Fix the problem, not the symptoms.
what's Mr Jolley got that we haven't?
Our Fairy Liquid
Ok point taken, matt it is, I just thought gloss would look better and maybe hold out the damp as I'm turning it into a gym / zwift/ utility room
a zwift room - is that the modern day equivalent of having a cinema room ? :D:D
