Slipping into a warm pool with a free lane after a long day dealing with people, problems, pain etc. There are no words.

Wife is no simple pleasure, so that's out. While living for long periods in remote places the only thing I missed was cheese on toast and a cuppa from a tea pot, pref with a crossword. First thing I have when returning home.

After being away from home doing restaurant eating 4 nights a week for months that was always one of the "What I'll do when I get home" things.

Years ago in France I had a disco biscuit, a surf, a cycle and a **** all in one day, in that order. Simple but blissfully deliriously happy. From nature I love the smell of Autumn in the woods.

Leftover curry from the night before and the first swallow of a good beer. And a belated and unexpected birthday present.

Being warm enough to your gloves off mid-ride, felt great today.

Dusty trails in dappled sunlight.

The feeling of a completing your 'to-do' list with time left to do something you actually want to do before you have to be responsible again.

When my son (5 yrs old) says "Dad, it's sunny and muddy at the same time, can we shred the gnarr today?" (although i feel guilty allowing him to think it's normal to talk like that).
