Sunny again now. Mmmm.

I feel it's been quite inefficient here... Our road got really iffy last night then just at the point of maximum chaos it stopped and started thawing. Now it's just come properly back on again at the point where most of yesterday's was gone. Get your shit together snow, you're embarassing yourself.

Went for a bit of a lower-level ride today. Tracks in the forests were mostly clear of snow, though with a few "entertaining" icy patches ready to trip me up. Another cold night so no great thaw yet. I'll see what tomorrows weather is like and either head up higher or maybe take my planks for a slide.

Out for a last-minute overnighter last night. A lot of fresh, wet snow made it hard going.

A lovely dusting at Carron for today's ride. Tomorrow looks rather interesting for North England and Central belt...

Gritters out in force in South Lanarkshire this evening..... they must know something the Met Office don’t.. forecast even up high here in EK is no frost and tomorrow a few sleet showers with temperatures properly above freezing.

Snow in Northumberland this morning. Starting falling heavily here just before rush hour. Total chaos ensued.

School bus didn't make it so the eldest is home on a snow day.

Glentress yesterday.

Upper trails had a good covering, but it wasn't that cold so it rapidly turned to wet sticky slush as you descended

We had around 4 inches in Harrogate (at least where we are which is at the top of the hill). It made for a lovely walk with the dog this morning.

For those that know, the Chalamain Gap was impassable due to a steep bank of icy snow

Looks similar to the last (only) time I went through there on New Years eve 1987 on the way to a wild night in the Lairig Ghru Bothy

The long-lasting high pressure area has resulted in cold nights but warm days and the tops are being gradually stripped. Bollocks that we can't get up there though!!

I was just thinking to update this thread - hail and snow showers this afternoon, I've just tried to cover all the veggy seedlings as we're due -2 tonight...

The past couple of days have topped up the snows a bit. Still frustrated that we can't get up there.

Nowt up at Swinhope yesterday. Still it's early. There's been years where we've skied in June! Was expecting an 8am refresh on the webcam, but it seems to have dropped to once a day:

The views of Yad Moss suggests there's nothing, but Fendrith Hill has its own bleak climate, so anything's possible.

Some snow forecast tonight, north end of the Cairngorms - it's currently 3C and blowing a northerly, so just needs a slight drop and add some moisture in the mix.
