Some great pictures in this thread!
If I'm stitching pictures from my DSLR or stills from the iPad I use Microsoft's Image Composite Editor (free if you have a Windows Live account and gives a few more options than Autostitch) Just make sure that all your pictures have some overlap (better to have too many pictures than too few!)
The 360 app for the iPad does a very good job of making an interactive panorama: you just take a load of pictures, stitch them together and then move the iPad around to see the result, or you can download the result and view it as a normal panorama.

Wow, amazing photos. I've always loved shots of the Scottish mountains, mainly because they seem real and accessible. If you want to go there and climb the hill then you can do it without too much risk of death.
Went out this morning hoping to exactly this up in Teesdale, but fell off into a boggy hole and bust the camera... 🙁
