Have really enjoyed seeing these pics - thanks everyone 8)

There's some real characters and in my dreams I will own a Cheseapeake Bay Retriever and a Curly-Coated Retriever. One dog is never enough!

Meanwhile, I must doff my cap to Stoner ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hainey if you want to find a shoot that requires beaters near to you then one of the best places to start could be here.

http://pubs.myfunforum.org/index.php

Once you get into a shoot, then you can learn the ropes and perhaps end up shooting on a beaters day and taking it on from there.

Sorry to hijack your forum cinnamon_girl

Oh there is another forum for such things but they are a bunch of nobs

http://www.nobs.org.uk/

Ok but you have to pay to register, then rely on them ringing you and asking you to join a shoot, the other forum is much more easily useable and is free,

(we like free)

One of the lads on our shoot has a Spinone, he is a very characterful dog.

CG - Ive been lucky to grow up around some wonderful dogs. I dont get to work dogs as often as I used to. In the family it's my mum and my bro who have the dogs now (our travelling for months at a time means we cant keep one), so I use theirs - fortunately they're never more than 15 minutes away ๐Ÿ™‚

One day when we're more settled Ill get me a new Springer: Nickel Mk II ๐Ÿ™‚

Given that I appear on this forum as a gundog I should try and put up images of her, and I will, just as soon as I work out how to link to fotopic.

Fenboy - Yep, off her rocker. We had a crazy Springer before, so it's not too much of a shock.

robgarrioch - German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Like a GWP they have two modes: sleeping/wuss/cuddles and MENTAL.

Oscar(13yrs) and Molly(7yrs). Oscar's joints aren't as young as they used to be, he gets tired easily ๐Ÿ™ Molly on the other hand is totally bonkers-crazy-mad-as-box-of-frogs-loopy-gah-gah ๐Ÿ˜€

Not working dogs but from working parents.

My mate Adam has a GSP that fits the sleep / go mental / repeat to fade model mentioned above.

Made the local news a couple of years back for his theft of a rare and distinguished 'gift'

what a great picture Capt.

A friend of the family who beats on a number of shoots has a fleet of Black labs and cockers too. Lord knows how she keeps them in check ๐Ÿ™‚

I know I've said before Capt'n but those labs are yours are stunning examples of fine hounds. Where'd you get them from lost ours a few weeks back and Mrs is itching for a new dog?

He's a longdog (sighthound X sighthound), pretty sure he's a well stirred mix of greyhound / saluki / deerhound.

33 kilos, nearly three feet tall at his ears, and three brain cells (not all pulling in the same direction)

Drac, thanks. The younger ones are all from the same trialling breeder who is a good friend of Mrs M's. Could put you in touch but she only tends to have a litter every one or two years and she could sell them three times over to people she knows from the trialling world

No worries Captain. Well if you heard she was having a litter I'd be interested but as it stands a lad at work has just out his bitch to line so waiting to hear about that.

Ok, here are the boys...

[img] [/img]

The black and white Springer is Ted (my dog) and the liver and white Cocker is Ralph (the wife's dog).

This is Ted with his first proper retrieve...

[img] [/img]

And this is them relaxing a little after a tough day chewing tennis balls and causing havoc:
