I'm seeking inspiration.

I fancy building a covered shelter to sit and barbecue under to give a little protection from summer wind/rain/hail etc (maybe even sunshine). First thoughts were of a timber gazebo with clear roof sheets, but the missus quite rightly pointed out that I wouldn't clean them, they would go green and make it dingy in the dining room.

Was thinking of some kind of sailcloth semi-permanent thing? Budget is, of course, minimal.

I'd set fire to that within minutes of erecting it. Either that or die of smoke inhalation.

but you wouldn't inhale smoke if it was made of sailcloth? How does that work?
