I've got a few job prospects in Sheffield that I'm going to chase up next week. I'd like to have an idea where I'm going to stay in case I get the chance of a quick start.

If anyone knows of a spare room, a loft, a treehouse, caravan or cave system available in walking or riding distance from town I'd like to hear about it.

I just want something as cheap and basic as possible to get my foot in the door. I need somewhere safe to park a van and put my body. Preferably somewhere quiet as my partying days are in the past. I'm clean and tidy and I'd rather not share with scruffs. I've got some old mates in the area but they never grew out of their student lifestyles if you know what I mean.

I'll keep checking rightmove and gumtree but would prefer something casual with no ties. I know from experience STW is always worth a try.

Any ideas?

Crookes. Hillsborough. Easy to find rental there.

Sheffield is also relatively close knit. You can ride everywhere, despite the hills. Lots of starter areas to support the students. Hunters Bar for example.

No help with question, but glad to hear there's some opportunities in the pipeline. Good luck amigo!

Thanks, I'll update 'that other thread' when I can. Didn't want to do daily updates.

Bump for the weekend crowd.

I'm heading down south to Sheffield in a little bit. Got a full days work booked tomorrow then I'm free to shop around on Monday.

I'll probably check out that Parkwood Springs place while I'm there.

Run by some mates. Never rented off them but they are honest and try to provide quality. Rent includes all bills including a tv licence I think

Thanks for that, I'll have a look.

I got a job. Start on the 25th. Need somewhere bike friendly before then. At least I've got a few weeks to get my junk in a pile.
