Yes the plod found him at Appledore but that was a few weeks ago, and I heard he was not ready to come back and he wanted to keep on walking.

I just want to know he is okay

I wouldn't worry about him SD. He was ok a few weeks ago, no reason to think he still isn't. He's just having a nice walk while there's good weather (before the summer then), while he can, and he'll be back at some stage.

heโ€™s on a spiritual journey

translatation: he's gone for a long walk to get away from all the people who keep trying to find him to ask him how he is!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just to let you know i was not technically found in Appledore just after 6pm on the 8th of April, i met a lady there and on the 12th of April 4 days i later painted her boat in welcome, it was a day later she read about me being missing and contacted my mother.

I had no other contact with anyone who made me aware i was classed as a missing person so was oblivious to all.

Outside Boscastle on the 14th, i did see a poster saying 'Shane contact your family' and thought it was coincidence, around a similar time a NT guy said something about am i that missing person....still i was doubtful it was me....

I arrived at Port Issac on the 15th and called my mother leaving a message on her answer phone.

A few days later i thought i'd check on FB to see if anyone knew i was gone,it was then i found out the magnitude of what had happened whilst i was fleeing from that dark place and that rope.

That put me back in a dark place, one of guilt and strengthening of my own opinion that all i ever did was let people down...

It was much later that i drew strength in all my experiences i'd had up to that point to send a postcard and a week later to make a phone call, then arrange to meet my mother back in Taunton during a 3 hr chance to get back there, walking around the town THINKING everyone was looking at me, talking about me, pointing at me, was saddening and made me feel unwelcome in a place i've spent most of my life.

All this made me feel how far i still had to go, to be strong enough to go back for long enough, to be able to sort out my affairs and put a closure to past painful years and to then and only then move on and live again.

Not even sure why i've chosen to waffle on like this here and now, but i've made a commitment to myself, to follow my heart and do what feels right at each and every moment, so far it's working and i'm progressing to a new stronger, different me.

Shane - good luck with finding yourself, you've been on quite a journey. But often one needs time and solitude to put things in perspective, to make sense of events, to mull over the past. Then to move forward with vigour and a different slant on life.

You're getting there, hang in there and look forward to riding with you on the Q's again before too long. 8)

you're stronger and braver than many people then, including me.

I think the threads on here should show you how strongly people do feel about you.
Doing what your doing takes more strength than you give yourself credit for.
Good luck in your journey, hopefully our paths will cross one day.

Theres always a warm welcome in Shropshire(although granted we do lack a coastline!)

Dude, you've never let me down and in fact you've gone beyond what most people would do. There's a book in there somewhere after all this and it'll most likely be one of those enlightening happy ending type books.

Best of luck on your journey and you know there's always a bed and food here for you as well as a bike for a wee spin round the woods.

Cheers Rickos, i know now i've not really let many people down, but during the really low days and the worst days the depressed mind thinks only that way, that of failure.

I've every intention as i had from the day i left to end this journey in a happy way and be able to tell it all in form of a book.

As i said, i'm keeping a journal and taking many pics, some because the coastline is just so photographic, others to just trigger the memories of what happened where, emotions and conditions. I've yet to take pics of me in full beardage, with savage blisters, etc.

In fact i think there's been only two pics of i've taken of myself, one of which was on a 10 second timer, of me stood posing on a rocky outcrop with a 300+ft drop to certain death, now the 10 sec run to it wearing a full pack and carrying a fishing rod and walking pole, turning on a platform the size of a fridge top and looking out to sea, was indeed a difficult one, on the 5th attempt i decided i'd chanced my luck and as i didn't want to die i'd stop this silly shot.

I'll be calling by at some stage, en-route to a promised pish up in Swansea/gower with some people i met in Newquay.. Don't tell Magic ๐Ÿ˜‰

It sounds as if you want to do some good in life (there are so many takers & not enough givers), whatever you do, keep safe.
Have a fun ride dude.
