Always seems the same script - what seem like traders contact you and offer close to the asking price (when I know trade prices are a fair bit lower) then offer you a deposit, or bank transfer without even viewing.

What's the scam?

Is it a scam? I assumed second hand cars are fairly difficult to come by since WBAC, Cazoo etc made it so easy to sell. Regular traders probably struggling for stock. Could be wrong obviously.

Pay a deposit to stop you selling to anyone else and then haggle when they turn up to collect?

Traders chancing their arm on FB are offering £18k (similar to WBAC). The phone calls and emails are offering up to £25k - it's on for £25,995. Genuine enthusiasts are saying mine is a decent price. Dunno, just don't want to get stung

Cars parked all around you, if they want to steal a car I'm sure there some in plain sight. How do you get through day to day thinking the worst in everything.

Maybe they could be wanting to buy it.........
