Our tatty old Escort is dying a miserable and fateful death, so we're looking at a new Octavia 4x4 Scout.
Anyone have any experience with them, either good or bad?
Can't comment on the Scout model but my 2009 Octavia VRS is ace. I know about 5 people who have Octavia's of various types and they all rate them. 2 with Vrs's love them, 1 with a fairly normal one but with DSG likes his too. One of the Vrs's has been thrashed for 80,000 miles of its life and has never put a foot wrong. It even came off pretty good when it met a sheep at 60mph on snake pass! sheep didn't.

Shop around as the model I was after was £1500 cheaper in one Skoda dealer franchise then another identical one. Both ex dem, both limited edition Vrs, same colour, same spec. Dearer on had an 4000 more miles on it too. 😀
I went to Motor Point too and used their price of an import brand new Vrs to help get me a good deal.
