Secure parking in Knighton or Chester? Or train options from Glasgow.

We’re going on a bit of a bike ride through Wales in August.

Of course we’ll get the train, I said to my wife, it would be crazy to drive and then have to park for a week. Easy I thought. Until I went off to try and book something…

How do you book 2 bikes on a train which includes 3 connections? Everything is showing as unavailable or bike spaces fully booked.

Looks like she was probably right and we will have to drive. Does anyone have any recommendations for secure parking of some kind either in Knighton or Chester? I think we’ll have to take the camper so don’t want to just leave it in a random carpark somewhere if I can help it.

Cheers

How ‘in Chester’ do you want to be? I live ten mins drive down the A41 and have drive space (what kind of camper?)

Bike spaces don't become available, along with cheap tickets until 3 months (?) in advance. So you're just seeing standard advance tickets.

Local active travel group reckons TfW is the best train website for booking bikes, regardless of where you are in the country.

We start in Knighton and end by getting a train back to Chester about 6 days later. So near enough to make that work, or near a station.

That is an awesome offer if it works thanks (and if train all the way isn't an option).

It's a Citroen Relay van 6m long.

I tweaked the dates to closer ones but still didn't find anything, admittedly I didn't look for long as I got annoyed... I'll have another go.

Cheers, will take a look

I've got plenty of room for you if needed (near Tarvin).

Bike spaces will show as available nearer the time.
