Stumbled across this earlier and thought I'd share.

In the interests of fairness, the book is 20 years old now and the current edition is considerably less scary. There again, this was [i]only[/i] 20 years ago.

Personally, as a European, I thank god for the seemingly endless capacity of Americans to shoot themselves in the foot - just think how economically powerful they'd be if they didn't have all those religious nutters hamstringing scientific education!
