Hi,

Any recommendations for a place to eat outside in the Peaks (after 7pm) to make the most of this glorious weather? Preferably rural.  Pub, restaurant, cafe etc...

Cheers...

Old Hall Inn at Chinley (whitehough) - Maybe 40 minutes or so from Macc via Kettleshulme

Swan Inn at Kettleshulme used to be fantastic and still is aas far as I'm aware, but not sure about outside eating

Vale Inn at Bollington, bit closer

I was going to recommend the Swan at Kettleshulme too.

Also worth a mention are:

Windmill, Whiteley Green

Ryles Arms, Sutton

Sutton Hall

Sutton Gamekeeper - I've only ever eaten inside but think they have a small garden out the back

Leathers Smithy, Langley (may be mobbed with bloody mountain bikers)

The Ship, Wincle

Lord Clyde, Kerridge

As above,

leathers smithy in Langley. You could have a post dinner stroll around the reservoir.

the windmill in whitely green

not been for years but had a good reputation.

Leathers Smithy is in a lovely location, but I’ve always found the food to be a bit crap. Sutton Hall is a good shout. Nothing to do with it being my local and having a great bourbon selection

Swan Inn is a bit of an upmarket eatery now but the grub does look very good (I merely had a pint).

Old Hall at Chinley - tick.

Popped in for a pint to the Devonshire Arms in Peak Forest the other day. Nice place and the food looks appetising.

Sutton Hall near Macc as mentioned.

The Plough near Hathersage used to be very good and I expect it still is.

Bulls Head Foolow. Which reminds me Silly Dale might just about be in condition.

In no particular order, a couple more to add

The Kott @ Ruston Spencer

Harrington Arms @ Gawsworth

The Rose and Crown @ Wincle/Wildboarclough

if you don’t mind s 20 min drive from Macc, The Swettenham Arms @ Swettenham is worth the effort

Thanks for all the replies.

We actually ended up taking a picnic into a quiet spot since weather was so good last night - but I'm going to remember all the suggestions and try them out (gradually!!).

Cheers all...
