Idlejohn - yellows can be given for it anywhere on the field if the ref deems it deliberate and amount of force as a principle guiding level of sanction is 3 years or so now IIRC

So... JJ in the England squad, will he get a run out?

Injury's are all looking good, and Woodward reckons England can beat Ireland which automatically makes them RWC winners... FFS why do we do this to ourselves!!

We will have strong team out though with a great bench, if EJ doesn't mess about and everyone gels...

Wales have said that Moriarty, G Davies, Loopy Liam, Biggar and Beard all fit. Not sure when team announced, expecting

Liam
North
Davies
Parkes
Adams
Anscombe
Tomos Williams
Moriarty/Navidi
Tips
Wainwright/Navidi
Beard
AWJ
Samson
Owens
Evans

Could see Anscombe at 15 and Biggar 10, backrow is tough to call at 8 or 6. Moriarty could bench as lacks gametime. G Davies may well start at 9 too.

Wyn Jones
Dee
Francis
BIL cory hill
Navidi/Moriarty
G Davies
Biggar
ANOther back maybe Amos

Not bad, will struggle with French power.

So, Eddies attritional training is starting to impact England.

Goods news - all the games are on ITV and therefore free. Bad news - all the games are on ITV and will contain Adverts.

I am now rather worried about Scotland chances given our injury situation. We are already beyond the point at which injuries will have an serious impact and its not even started yet.

My gut instinct is that that French team looks pretty garbage!

Irish Times reporting Robbie Henshaw will play full back, Rob Kearney was very poor the other night for Leinster in his come back game for Leinster. Could be a curve ball but would be an interesting selection. He used to play there for Connacht occasionally before he moved to Leinster

Emile NTamacs kid instead, he's only 19.

15. Robbie Henshaw
14. Keith Earls
13. Garry Ringrose
12. Bundee Aki
11. Jacob Stockdale
10. Johnny Sexton
9. Conor Murray

1. Cian Healy
2. Rory Best (captain)
3. Tadhg Furlong
4. Devin Toner
5. James Ryan
6. Peter O’Mahony
7. Josh van der Flier
8. CJ Stander

Reports I read had henshaw at FB too as above. He covered for Leinster couple of months back. Used to be a very good FB
Kearney did not look fully fit last week.
Conway, lamour, and Addison can all play 15 but this is a nice way to get Aki, henshaw, and ringrose on the same team.
Joe likes to experiment with positions in prep for WC so he knows who can cover what in a 23.
If it works out, it might just turn out to be the best 15.

French side looks like a proper French team.
Big forwards, fast backs.

Why does he get all the attention but Alain Penaud's kid gets ignored?

Although I didn't expect anything less, thats a strong looking Irish team with "WIN" written all over it.

So whats your target for this 6N and how optimistic are you?
For Scotland 3 wins must be the minimum to consider it a successful 6N and on the optimistic scale I am about 6 right now or in laymans terms almost halfway to private frazer

I'd say the same for England really, we'll start clear favourites in our home games and second favourites in our away games..... it'll be a close affair in all games bar Italy imo.

I’m sorry, but I cannot see Scotland winning more than two games at most. More likely to win none than three!

Thats why I am at 6 on the optimistic scale and veering towards full private Frazer mode.

Six Nations has always been terrestrial, what has changed is that its split up amongst bbc and itv, which is arse because itv has the england games and their coverage sucks.

This is a great site for finding out whats on when and where.

Amazed that Daly is starting at full back. He was bollox there in the autumn and has been shit for Wasps this season. That’s a big call. I’d have thought that Saturday was tailor made for Brown because despite being a bit grumpy, he’s pretty good under the high ball.

The Irish team look very good and I can’t see much passed them winning well at home. I’m prepared for a pisspoor performance from England. Ireland are the form team in the northern hemisphere coming off the back of a very impressive autumn and a good European tournament. Plus they have a coach who has a game plan, knows his best team and how to execute the win.

Mind map+1

England do not have a full time full back even on the bench.  Wtf.   Trial of the century for Daly.

Scotland team out

15. Stuart Hogg VICE-CAPTAIN (Glasgow Warriors) - 65 caps

14. Tommy Seymour (Glasgow Warriors) - 46 caps
13. Huw Jones (Glasgow Warriors) - 19 caps
12. Sam Johnson (Glasgow Warriors) - uncapped
11. Blair Kinghorn (Edinburgh) - 7 caps

10. Finn Russell (Racing 92) - 40 caps
9. Greig Laidlaw CAPTAIN (Clermont Auvergne) - 66 caps

1. Allan Dell (Edinburgh) - 17 caps
2. Stuart McInally VICE-CAPTAIN (Edinburgh) - 22 caps
3. Willem Nel (Edinburgh) - 26 caps
4. Ben Toolis (Edinburgh) - 14 caps
5. Grant Gilchrist (Edinburgh) - 28 caps
6. Sam Skinner (Exeter Chiefs) - 3 caps
7. Jamie Ritchie (Edinburgh) - 6 caps
8. Ryan Wilson (Glasgow Warriors) - 41 caps

Substitutes
16. Jake Kerr (Leicester Tigers) - uncapped
17. Jamie Bhatti (Glasgow Warriors) - 11 caps
18. Simon Berghan (Edinburgh) - 14 caps
19. Gary Graham (Newcastle Falcons) - uncapped
20. Josh Strauss (Sale Sharks) - 17 caps
21. Ali Price (Glasgow Warriors) - 19 caps
22. Adam Hastings (Glasgow Warriors) - 7 caps
23. Chris Harris (Newcastle Falcons) - 6 caps

A mighty front 5 that will take on anyone and give a good account of themselves. Nelly the scrumephant back to his destructive best.
A somewhat makeshift and lightweight back row ( relativly!) I fear that will be out undoing. NOt enough power to get over the gainline ball in hand, not enough guile to steal and slow opposition ball. Without those two things we are in trouble
Backs - the best we can do pretty much. Nice to see Kinghorn get a start - he is a very dangerous runner and excellent under the high ball. Expect to see Hogg coming into the line a lot and taking ball at first receiver with Kinghorn dropping back to cover. Thats a back division to score tries if the forwards get us some decent ball.

Thought France had a 1ton scrum a few seasons ago.

Anyway Ryan Wilson and Gary Graham in the same pack. It'll be like 2am on Sunday morning on Lothian road. Fists swinging everywhere and puffed up chests.

Aye yes - Ryan Wilson - that epitome of the beautiful game - a silky runner with great ball handling skills and the likeliest player to win the sportsmanship award 😉

Some predictions of things that shouldn't happen in the game but will do

Wilson will get into a fight in every match but so sneakily he never gets penalised He and Itoje will set up a boxing ring on the centre spot to get it out of their systems before the match

Gilcrest will give away a really stupid penalty either pulling down a maul or lying on the ball right on our line and cost us a try

Russell will completely mess something up. He is not allowed to take penalties to touch nor kickoffs nor goal kicks anymore but he will still find something to get wrong

Someone will call Toolis a big girl and pull his hair

Interesting interview with Nowell.   I think many were in awe of his comeback match for Exeter where he appeared everywhere to great effect although officially played at FB.  He’s stating licence to do the same on Saturday which could make things interesting, but more so he says he may play off the forwards - I’m guessing Eddies asking him to get over the ball in the ruck as an extra/quick player into contact.
