[#2312242]

I'm having the rubbish-est Xmas Eve for ages. The missus is on nights ( saw her for about 3mins when I got in) then I'm at work tomorrow, & she's back in tomorrow night, then I'm in on Boxing day as well. No bliddy wonder we don't argue! ( don't say, 'think of the money' cos there's no extra for me)
Anyone else in the same boat?
Merry Xmas everybody. 😆

****in nightmare here!!! The mrs is in bed proper I'll, in 15 yrs never seen her so poorly and I'm very close to calling the doc! Just put the kids in bed, they're buzzing for Santa but have only managed to spend crim eve with dad. I'm worried calling doc will upset them further so at some point I'm gonna have to prioritise and just hope if I have to make the call he's bloody quiet! Oh and all the pressies are in the loft which I've somehow got to get down here myself!! Merry nightmare!!

wrightyson - I'm no doc, but maybe give NHS a call now if you're worried? They can advise, I guess, if you need to get the doc over. Best of luck.

Daughter has a tummy bug and is throwing up when ever any food is taken on.

Poor thing, she's 7 and this may be her last "I believe in Santa" Christmas.

Hopefully a 24hour thing

I really feel for those with poorly loved ones , today has been the first in nearly 3 weeks that we haven't had puking/coughing/squirts from at least 1 of the family , it's been a complete nightmare we've gone from norovirus to flu and back again passing it back and forth between us.

Hope they feel better soon.

Cool hand, our daughter is 9 in march and she still believes in the "magic"! Gonna give the wife another half hr then check her, which I've been doing all day. Our surgery rings through to nhs call centre anyway so I'll have to go through that process anyway. Just had to call her sister who is also a major Christmas fan and explain we probably won't be round tomorrow! What a shitter!! Cheers for the replies tho folks. And merry Christmas for real 🙂

Well done for keeping the dream with your 7 & 10 year olds. My daughter is 5 1/2 so is a total believer.
Kinda hoping the playground gossip doesn't spoil it for another year or two.

Because every dog eats children?? Tell em to knackers! Oh and have you snuck into a corner to type out your woes whilst the outlaws coo over the new born? 🙂

Pretty unsettled here. Father is seriously ill, didn't expect him to make it through last night but he did. He's doped up on morphine, doesn't recognise anyone and is quite delirious. Visiting in the morning with my adult children.

I do hope those parents with young children are feeling better tomorrow. Xmas is great fun for kids.

I've just returned from work, so no xmas eve to speak of for me. 8 of us have hired a cottage in the Lakes, most of them are already there, I'm heading up in the early hours for several days of relaxing, beer drinking, biking and winter climbing. Most of the immediate family live overseas or far down south now, so we don't do the gathering anymore, which suites me, although I do miss them. Just become an uncle as of 14 days ago, so I'm looking forward to checking in on his nibs in the New Year.

Dad beats leukemia over a really rough 6 months for him and my mum... come up to see us for Christmas..... his consultant calls and said the last scan has shown a problem with his sigmoid colon.... hospitalised today again for another op...

The National Archive of medical records cannot open his previous scans ( he lives in Lincolnshire and he is with us in Edinburgh). National in this case means Scotland....

More scans, blood tests.. but at least he is getting treatment.... be pleased to see the back of 2010

Just as a slight UP post I thought it was going to be shite but I'm on the mend, Father in law has had the all clear with his heart ( 2 attacks in August) the wife's MS isn't too bad at the moment & I'm slightly merry.

Big hugs to anyone going through it at the moment as I lost my father @ 61 over one Christmas time & it still cuts me really bad (can feel tears coming on now)

Hope things improve for all of you. Was looking forward to a massive family christmas this year, but it wasn't to be. It's actually worked out better for us this way though. Doing some last minute decorating (OK, my wife is :)) and will be opening presents shortly. Actually bought an ace one for us both about 20 minutes ago 🙂

I finally recovered or at least 95% from the flu after 5 days. Still low energy and want to barf after exertion. But I'm off work and off until new years eve so that's a mega bonus.

CG thoughts with you went through that in April until early June with my Dad. If want a chat you know where my email is.

To all others with ill ones hope they're well tomorrow too.

I forgot to say last night - my mum also had biopsies on two other areas and we found out yesterday they are both clear so ( hopefully) no chemo on top of the operation so YAY! to that bit.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Well I was going to post that my Christmas Eve was a bit meh because I was up cleaning until 11pm. However having read everyone else's troubles I am now pretty thankful.

You all have my sympathy 🙁

My wife ended up in a & e at 3am after coughing up loads of blood. Looks like she's got a real bad chest infection so has been doped up and in bed most of the day. I feel pretty cool having done the whole shebang for kids and grandparents today.

Tired and a wee bit pissed now mind you 😉
