None of their lenses could reach me where I was!

If (and that is a mighty big, never going to happen if there) I was going to go to that I'd be pretty sure I was at the most heavily photographed event in the world this year and there is just a chance that someone with a good camera, given permission to stand somewhere with a great vantage point and with a natural apptitude for taking good snaps might have a taken a better one than I'm going to with my crappy £100 point and shoot. Why then waste "the experience" of being there by watching it through some 1" x 1" screen on a plastic box and worrying about the bloke in front's jubilee red white and blue top hat getting in the picture? Actually watch and participate in the event, not be an observer ffs!

Japanese tourists seem the worst at this - not giving a toss about taking in their surroundings that they have travelled half way around the world to see but more concerned about getting a photo of themselves in front of it (with default emotionless expression) persumably to show others back hoome before hurrying back to their coach.

Pretty much how I feel about gigs these days convert.

If the Royal Wedding goers weren't watching through their own camera screen they wouldn't be able to see for all the other camera screens in front of their faces anyway.
