So what are the chances of the above? Its going to be massively hostile so will Rooney keep a lid on it.
Should he be starting anyway? We have been doing ok without him scoring goals and working well as a team.
Bench him or not?

100% bench him. Personally i can't stand him, such a petulant child and you are correct with what you say. We qualified, drew and won

Trouble is the media will tear Hodgson a new one if he doesn't play him.

I'd burn him with the garden rubbish as my boy idolises him

Rooney hasn't score in 11 hours of tournament play !!

You've got to go back to Euro2004 in Portugal against Croatia for his last tournament goal !!

Any club or country manager would give a portion of their gentleman vegetables to have Rooney on their team. Of course he should play.

Rooney this season - 1 booking (kicking ball away, Champions League, Sept) and second highest goal tally in Premiership.
Handsome? No
Gobby? Yes
Englands best player? ?

Everone's slagging off Young after Sweden, but look at the goals he's scored recently.

You can support without blindly following and agreeing with everything that the team does. What would be the fun in that? We all need something to argue about, why not football too?

I think he'll plod around the not doing much and then have a paddy around the 70th minute. I could be wrong, although it would be funny if he had a full blown screaming hissy fit.

28 goals in 74 games is letting England down?

If he scores and celebrates with a smile and a cheer, then he's alright.

If he scores and celebrates with a pout and puffing out his chest, then I hope he wakes up tomorrow bald.

Why not STFU moaning about what might happen, and just support the team. Rooney is a proven, world class match winner. That's why he's started! Not like we're overly blessed with them is it really?

I think the problem with Rooney is if a couple of decisions dont go his way he spends the rest of the game waving his arms at the ref. When we (Newcastle) beat Man U 3-0 this season, that is all he did. He needs to channel that frustration into scoring goals, and he doesn't do it.

and he's just missed a sitter!

EDIT: and while we're all having a whine. Milner and Young just aren't good enough.

Rooney = shite and that's swearing

4 missed heading opportunities that Carroll MAY have got

Either way I'm ashamed to be English (damn this beer is strong)

So..... You were saying?

That if Andy Carroll had been on we'd be at least 2 up and qualification would be in the bag?

See, put him through when he actually has to do something and he screws it up. 😛

If Carroll had been playing Ukraine would have had much more possession after the big geordie failed to find a team mate with his passes.

You'd rather have Andy Carroll on the pitch than Rooney? Seriously?

Have you considered a career managing Liverpool? 😉

It'll be an interesting discussion between Lampard and John the Lion Heart regarding touchline technology.
And who's his boyfriend on the commentry team?

I take it you're not currently dressed in Yellow, standing on the goal line in the Ukraine then?
