I'd put money on your buyer not showing.

I don't gamble.

Why can't he come today!

I don't know. Maybe he's on a religious retreat day, maybe he's spending the day in a crackhouse with three Nicaraguan hookers, maybe he's riding a bike somewhere? Shall I let him know how disappointed you are?

I mean when I've been selling a car when a buyer says 'when can I come' I say asap!

Admittedly I've not had many no-show's but thats because I've been brutally honest about the car on the phone before and price.

ah, now I see. It's just that, after slagging us all off for misreading edd's post and implying we were seeing risks that weren't real, you seemed to suggest the buyer was legit and that there were valid reasons for higgo accepting their wanting to use paypal

I see now that what you meant was, "be careful, paypal is in no way secure - cash is the best way"

I can't believe I got it so wrong. Sorry

p.s. these are not the only three ways to live your life. But, done in the right order, they are hard to beat.

higgo, I'm intrigued. What is the purpose of the religious retreat day - to procure the hookers or the crack ?

Well, to me, the wording sticks of a scam...

thanks for the email, do let me know how much you are willing to sell
>> to me and you need to assure that it is in perfect condition and i
>> would love to see any pictures if you have. I will be paying with my
>> paypal account which is the safest online payment mode. So please do
>> reply me asap with your paypal account or send me a payment request
>> from your paypal account so i can effect payment to you rightaway.
>> You can easily open an account with paypal if you don't have one at
>> http://www.paypal.co.uk. its safe, simple and reliable also do get back to
>> me so we can arrange for pick up as i will like it to be picked by my
>> pick up agent, so no shipping included. I await your reply. Hope to

Now, they may show, but that just doesn't sound right.

Well you did get it wrong. You did "see risks that weren't real"

You thoughts Edd's emails were from Higgo's buyer didn't you?

(as did plenty of others who were too keen to show how knowledgeable they were without actually reading the thread.)

Now your trying to have a pop at me to cover your mistake.

Like I said earlier though, if it makes you feel better, go for it. ๐Ÿ™„

DrP - say sorry to nealglover, he's already a bit cross today

(Addit: ng - while we may have commented on edd's emails specifically, I suspect none of "us" would advise higgo to sell a car to his buyer via paypal - those risks, IMO, are real ones (to us at least))

The inability to read and ability to jump to conclusions by some is awesome. ๐Ÿ˜€

Not cross at all.

I'm finding it all quite funny actually. Financial advice from people who can't keep with (a fairly slow) Internet forum thread.

Priceless

Thanks for Brightening up my day.

I suppose you know it was about ten hours after higgo had pointed out our errors (and I'd acknowledged it) that your blinding light of righteousness and clear-reading was shone upon the thread ?
(no offence, like - I still think you're the best, so we can agree on that at least)

I'll admit to reading the thread wrong last night but I still wouldn't take PayPal gift for anything I'm selling and I'd only take 'normal' PayPal for something I can send fully tracked and signed for.
Cars should be bought with cash imo.

And only a bit more than 10 minutes since the most recent person gave some brilliant "advice"

Yet somehow I'm the one in the wrong ?

Sweet logic.

Eek! My error!

Oh well - at least I'm putting my efforts in where it counts, rather than on here!
