She was a whole lot more fun than current crop of "celebrities". I too was surprised she was only 45.
Strikes me she was one of those at the start of this celebrity status though not actually good at anything, except getting noticed, lark. If she's looking down she's probably happy that more attention is being given to her. But, obviously she's not, so er.
I remember watching some late night chat/music show, probably for a band I liked that was on... Can't remember the show, it was set in a bar, or fake bar. Anyway, she's getting interviewed and baiting the crowd and getting into it and generally being a cool lady, then she mentioned as part of her wasted posh upbringing getting piano lessons and the host says "play for us"... And obviously everyone's expecting fur elise or something. Anyway, she sat down, knocked the lid up and just absolutely wailed into the dirtiest, wildest blues riff you can imagine. Proper blues. So that's what I thought about when I heard the news, unexpected awesomeness from someone that at the time people had written off as a joke.Also, it took 8 armed police to arrest her one time at heathrow, that's scottish as ****.

TPT used to live over the road from where my missus worked in the early '00s. Apparently she was quite an entertaining neighbour and not a bad sort. She once left [url= 
]this hat[/url] with her for the milliner to collect. When she moved out it took several vans to shift all her clothes, the removals guys were just grabbing armfuls of dresses and chucking them into the back for hours and hours.

Back in the late 1990s she was very well known as the unattainable ‘posh totty’ in FHM, Esquire etc.

I remember getting on a london night bus- probably from camden or kings x- and it was about 80% full of random late night scumbags, and 20% full of these old posh boys in djs and cummerbunds and that who'd been to some reception (and all still immaculate, not a bow tie untied) One of them genuinely had a monacle, and most of them looked like Timothy Spall. One said something like "Isn't this mahvellous, rubbing shoulders with the oi polloi!" It was so weird, you'd think it was a comedy sketch. And they were bloody [i]brilliant[/i]- chatting up the ladies, handing around hipflasks, singing incomprehensible drinking songs and telling stories, absolute life and soul. 2 of them had a pretty good fight. Then they all got off at my stop and we ended up getting greasy deathburgers from the place at victoria bus station. You'd not have been surprised if they'd invited the whole bus back to theirs for brandy and snuff.
Basically there's different sorts of class. And these guys had [i]class[/i]. Not the sort of background or personality that makes you think you're better than everyone else, just the sort that makes you feel like you can do things. Confidence not arrogance. And I think she was probably like that too.

The same way that there are plenty of people who can eat all day long and not put on weight and why there are life long smokers who die at a ripe old age of something other than cancer.
Everyone's body reacts differently to the stuff we put in it and we don't know how we're going to react before we do. The more risks you pull though the more likely you are to find out something negative.

And secondly I get mildly irritated by people making assumptions based on their own prejudices, I don't like knee-jerk reactions - I believe people should "think".

Yes, it was a bad attempt to "manufacture" an argument even by Ernie's normal standards.
